The adidas Originals Ozweego has been a fan-favorite since the updated version finally landed earlier this year. Now, adidas is doubling down on the modern take with a change in materials. Check out the Ozweego Tech, coming soon.

The adidas Ozweego was first introduced into the Three Stripes catalog back in the 1990s as a long-distance running sneaker. Since then, the look has been reworked time and time again, most notably by longtime adidas partner Raf Simons. However, the Originals division took matters into their own hands this year, remodeling the vintage runner into a more modern, lifestyle appropriate look, and it’s been a hit so far. Now, adidas is back to the drawing board for a new version of the modern-day Ozweego, swapping out mesh base layers and leather overlays for a single-material neoprene upper.

The revamped iteration of the modern adidas Ozweego delivers an interesting new take on the silhouette. Arriving in two tonal colorways, Clear Brown and Clear Granite, the single-material upper’s layering are achieved through stitching to create the Ozweego’s usual system of overlays and support. Due to the nature of the material, the shoes have a soft sheen to them, appearing somewhat metallic on feet, and will likely fit a little snugger than before.
