The adidas ZX family is back in full force this year, finally bringing back some of the most beloved silhouettes from the late ’80s. Among them is the ZX 6000, nearly lost among the other hits, which arrives in a new sequined look this Spring.

The adidas ZX 6000 has been one of the most elusive silhouettes from the ZX family, only surfacing in a total of two colorways in the brand’s revival of the classic franchise so far. This week, however, the Three Stripes is dropping the first ZX 6k of the new year, which takes on a startling new look in the form of an entirely sequined upper. From heel to toe, each panel that makes up the ZX 6000 has been entirely filled with the shiny little circles, making use of their ability to slightly change colors for this highly unique look. The eye-catching ZX 6000 begins with a layer of silver sequins replacing the typical mesh base, while metallic gold replaces the shoe’s outermost pieces. Colorful accents make up the various layers in between, with the Three Stripes in purple with red accents, and bright green laces to complete the look.

adidas Originals’ sequin-clad take on the classic ZX 6000 runner has not yet been officially announced for release, though they are expected to drop sometime in Spring 2021. Featuring a unique construction, this ZX model will likely launch from both adidas and select retailers, with the usual price tag of $130 despite the odd build.
