Heading into April, one of the unofficial sneaker holidays is almost here and so are our early looks at the special-edition footwear created to celebrate it. Check out the adidas Originals ZX 420 “4/20”, coming soon.
adidas Originals has established their love for creating 4/20-themed sneakers over the past several years, finally leaning fully into these special projects and all the exciting materials, textures, and colors it lends to creating footwear. This year, the Three Stripes is continuing its recent trend, this time in a slightly more obvious fashion than previous entries, with the new ZX 420 “4/20”. Featuring a color scheme made to mimic the plant that inspired it, this ZX 420 begins with a grey mesh toe box and green mesh quarter panel base layers, before adding shaggy green suede overlays across the entirety of the silhouette. The inner lining, midsole, and signature Three Stripes feature hints of purple to add to the color palette, while purple adidas branding can be spotted on the tongues and heels. While very little is known about this pair as of yet, we are likely to see them in the coming weeks, a bit closer to the international 4/20 holiday.
ADIDAS ORIGINALS ZX 420 “4/20” RELEASE INFORMATION
adidas Originals upcoming “4/20”-themed pair of the classic ZX 420 have not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to launch sometime on or around April 20th, 2021, for, uh, reasons. The special-edition purple & green pair will be available from adidas and select retailer for $100.
