adidas’ ZX line is heating up in 2021, with new silhouettes and retro releases lined up all year. This week, the fan-favorite ZX10000c from 2019 makes a return, adding new “Acid Orange” midsoles to an otherwise grey pair for an interesting new release.

The adidas ZX10000C is the follow up to 1989’s ZX9000, thirty years in the making. Originally released last year in a handful of different collaborations and colorways, the ZX10000C, or ZX10K, was designed as an amalgamation of all the sneakers that came before it, fitting in seamlessly with the rest of the ZX family as well as bringing the classic line into the modern day for the first time. Now, the ZX10K is available in a variety of colorways, as well as numerous special-edition releases from the past two years. This week, adidas unveiled a new iteration of the silhouette, switching up some materials and painting it in an interesting new color blocking for 2021. The “Acid Orange” ZX 10000 begins with a new mesh base layer, one that appears more breathable and flexible. The overlays are made from the same premium suede and nubuck, though the entirety of the upper is limited to two or three basic grey tones for this release. The color comes from the midsole, which is dipped in a faint “Acid Orange” tone, while neon green laces add a bit more color to the design.
