The adidas Superstar has seen dozens of different iterations in the last two years, mostly in honor of the shoe’s 50-year anniversary in 2020. Now the Three Stripes have unveiled a new Winterized format, coming soon.
The adidas Superstar has been everywhere in recent months. From the various new models we encountered last year to its inclusion in most of the brands recent collaborations have left us looking for something new in the fifty-year-old basketball shoe, and I think we might have just found it. Described by the Three Stripes as a ‘Winterized’ version of the classic shoe, this Superstar adds some exciting new features to make them more durable in poor weather conditions, as well as making them better equipped for trudging through mud and snow, thanks to the jagged new outsole attached. Otherwise, the look adds a new panel to the midfoot to protect against the elements, while a new heel counter adds further support. Finally, a button snap on the outer heels is assumably to keep pants with a loop covering your ankles, though they could function as a small key chain if needed.
ADIDAS ORIGINALS SUPERSTAR WINTERIZED RELEASE INFORMATION
adidas Originals new Superstar Winterized has not yet been officially slated to release, though we are expecting them to drop sometime early in 2022. Seen here in a black and teal blue color scheme, the new outdoor-ready model will likely launch from both adidas and select retailers with a price tag of $110 attached.
