The adidas NMD_R1 is celebrating its anniversary this year, having made its debut over five years ago in 2016. This week, the Three Stripes have unveiled a new “St. Patrick’s Day” color scheme, available now.
The adidas NMD_R1 has seen its fair share of colorways since the silhouette first launched in 2016. From limited-edition releases to fan-favorite collaborations, the NMD has served as one of the Three Stripes most versatile canvasses over the past five years, entering the beloved Nomad into the ranks’ of adidas most popular footwear. This week, the NMD continues its anniversary releases, this time with a special colorway celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. After years of releases, the current version of the NMD is a refined version of the original, utilizing a knit textile upper that acts more like a conforming booty, along with a rubberized heel counter, and TPU midsole plugs for added support. The St. Patrick’s Day rendition paints the NMD_R1 in a beautiful Collegiate Green tone, adding a gum rubber outsole as well as white stripes, heel counters, adidas branding for a high contrast look.
