The adidas City Series began in the 1970s, as adidas crafted footwear specific to each city’s terrain and everyday needs. Now, in 2020, the Originals team has revived the classic collection for a new globe-trotting adventure, which stops in Barcelona this month.
adidas Originals’ revival of the classic City Series in 2020 has brought us some of our favorite Three Stripes trainers of the year, and there are still more to come. Earlier this week, the Originals team unveiled its latest entry in the modernized world tour of major cities, paying tribute to each with a special-edition sneaker. This week’s release takes us to Barcelona, Spain, to recreate the original adidas Barcelona silhouette from the 1980s. This year’s Barcelona is a near-perfect recreation of the original, from the plush leather upper to the royal blue branding accents, and even down to the adidas Trimm Trab midsole tooling to complete the iconic look.

The adidas Originals City Series for 2020 continues this week with the clean “Barcelona” silhouette and has been announced for release later this week, on November 6th, 2020. The quintessential adidas terrace sneaker will be available from adidas.com, as well as select retailers like END. Clothing with a retail price of approximately $99, despite being slightly limited in nature.
