The adidas NMD lineup is ever expanding, though this year they’ve spent a significant amount of time with the OG silhouette, the R1. Now a beloved lifestyle shoe in the sneaker scene, the NMD first launched in 2015 as a modern runner inspired by three of their archive models, and utilizing the best materials adidas has to offer. As per their usual schedule, adidas is set to release a string of new NMD_R1 colorways for the new season, including this bold new “Thunder” look. The new colorway begins with a black base for the upper, accented by light grey stripes. Next, the forward toe support and EVA midsole bricks are done in a bright yellow tone to separate them from the shoe.

The next new adidas NMD_R1 colorway has not been announced for release, though they are expected to drop soon. The basic “Thunder” color scheme will retail for the usual $130 retail price, and drop from both adidas and select retailers.
