The adidas NMD_R1 has seen countless colorways and builds in the years since its debut. However, the latest special-edition may be the most interesting yet. Teased by footstores in the United States, the NMD_RI “Printed” Series is coming soon.

The adidas NMD is constantly releasing in fresh new looks. This month, we have already had a shot several new variations including new branding and unusual color combos. Now, U.S. footwear retailers like Champs and Footlocker have been slowly teasing images of a spicy new collection from the Three Stripes. While most of the information regarding these shoes is still in the dark, some early product shots tell us more than we need to know about the new “Printed” Series.

The new “Printed” collection of the adidas NMD_R1 covers the timeless silhouette in some wacky new patterns. The forest camouflage look will debut in three clean colorways, one based in green, one desert-themed iteration, and, of course, and triple black variation. The mesh upper of each pair is entirely covered by the distinct camo pattern, even taking over the omnipresent Three Stripes you would normally see on either quarter panel. The signature NMD midsole bricks are made to match one of the upper’s main colors, meaning green with white Boost for the forest pair, tan with white Boost for the desert pair, and black with black Boost for the final colorway. The standard NMD-branded pull tab on the heel comes in bright orange to round out the look, held in place by a translucent heel cap.

Finally, all three pairs will feature new NMD branding on the heel of the Boost. The green and tan pairs will feature black “NMD” lettering across the back, while the black pair will feature “NMD” and “NYC” in white. Because just one pair is classified as “NYC”, it is currently unclear if this will appear on all three colorways.
