The adidas NMD_R1 is as popular as ever. Now, adidas is trying to help the shoe reach a wider audience with a new price drop and small design changes. Check out the new Ink & Sesame colorways, arriving next month.
The next additions to adidas’ massive arsenal of NMD sneakers are some of the best R1 Primeknit colorways we’ve seen in a while. Much of the construction on the new pairs is the same as what we’ve come to know and love, save for the signature Three Stripes on either side. Instead, these stripes are now an embossed knit, standing out from the side of the shoe and providing more support internally. The first two colorways to feature this reshaping both come with the infamous glitch camo pattern, one in “Energy Ink” and one in the neutral “Sesame” tone, both accompanied by black detailing around the shoe.
This year, adidas is also making some adjustments to their lineup of readily-available NMDs. We first noticed a drop in some of the prices last month with the STLT which noticeably dropped from $170 to $140 retail. This is likely to help adidas push the NMD franchise to a wider audience that is not as willing to spend $180 on a casual sneaker as collectors are.

The new adidas NMD_R1 Primeknit colorways are scheduled to release on August 1st, 2018. The new Energy Ink and Sesame colorways are the first to drop at the new price point of $140 and will be available from both adidas and select retailers.
