The adidas NMD line is the new standard for lifestyle sneakers. The sleek styling and incredible comfort have made them a perfect everyday shoe. While is adidas is focusing on new categories this year, the NMD_R1 still returns in fresh Orange and Aqua tones.

The adidas NMD family has taken a step back from the limelight in 2018. The storied and cherished line has been at the center of adidas’ meteoric rise to prominence, though this year’s releases have slowed down. 2018 saw the release of several new additions to the NMD franchise, and despite these great-looking newcomers, the original R1 silhouette still reigns supreme.

This June, adidas will launch two new Summer-ready colorways of the NMD_R1 Primeknit. Both shoes feature a similar build and color blocking, with the EVA pods and heel plates coming in a soft grey tone. The difference comes in the form of the single-piece monotone upper. For the latest NMD drop, one pair will come with an entirely “Trace Orange”, while the second uses threads of “Energy Aqua.” If the monotone colorways are too simple for you, both pairs include 3M knit into the entire upper, making them shine in the light.

After a May 1st release, the shoes quickly disappeared from the adidas website, and haven’t been seen since. However, this is not the first time we have seen the new orange & blue adidas NMDs. Late in 2017 at ComplexCon in Los Angeles, Swedish retailer SneakersNStuff was on site sharing previews of their upcoming collaborations. These NMDs were hidden inside a wooden box along with several other pairs, all of which were only viewable via a small “porthole”-like window cut into the side. While there has been no mention of these being an SNS exclusive they certainly look like the same pairs from last year and the retailer has been dropping plenty of hints via their Instagram page.

UPDATED ON 6/20: adidas has released both colorways on their website. Previously exclusive to SneakersNSTuff, the tonal NMD_R1 colorways are available directly from the brand.
