The adidas NMD franchise has seen it’s fair share of cool new colorways over the years. This month, the Three Stripes is shaking it up a bit with one of the best simple color schemes this year, giving two tonal pairs gold detailing.
The adidas NMD family has taken a step back from the limelight in 2018. The storied and cherished line has been at the center of adidas’ meteoric rise to prominence, though this year’s releases have slowed down. 2018 saw the release of several new additions to the NMD franchise, and despite these great-looking newcomers, the original R1 silhouette still reigns supreme. The latest pairs of the NMD_R1 silhouette to hit retailers maybe some of the best so far this year. Beginning with a thin knit upper, these NMDs come in two simple tonal looks. One pair paints the entire shoe in white, while the second uses the brand’s darker shades of grey throughout. As an homage to the original adidas Stan Smiths with gold detailing, these NMDs feature metallic gold stripes as well as NMD-branded tongue logos and rear pull tab. The pack is an excellent collector’s item for adidas fans, offering a taste of their classic on the more modern pairs.
ADIDAS NMD_R1 “GOLD STRIPES” PACK RELEASE INFORMATION
The new gold-striped adidas NMD_R1 colorways have not been announced for release by adidas, though they are available early via Finishline. Both the white and grey pairs will retail for $130 from both adidas and select retailers.
