4/20 is coming up next week, and with it, plenty of themed sneaker releases. This week, adidas’ weed sneakers surfaced on their release calendar, showing off a much more subtle approach for 2020 with the Nizza Hi and Low
Looks like adidas is celebrating 4/20 this year after all. Last week, the brand quietly added some rapidly upcoming drops to their internal release calendar, giving us a first look at what appears to be their annual 420 offerings. This year, they’ve gone a little abstract, teasing the shoes’ inspiration simply through the materials and product descriptions. Starting with the Nizza Hi, which was purpose-built for “cutting class and stealing rolling papers” through a crispy white leather upper embossed with plenty of Trefoils and “X”s to resemble said rolling papers. The Nizza Low goes for a much darker shaggy olive green canvas construction, as well as reminding you to “slip on your wayfarers so no one can see your eyes”. Smart. Finally, each pair comes with a custom zippered pouch that hooks into the lacing system, for carrying… extra laces? Yeah, let’s go with that.
ADIDAS ORIGINALS NIZZA “4/20” COLLECTION RELEASE INFORMATION
This year’s 4/20 release from adidas, which celebrates the rebellious nature of teenagers in the ’80s, is scheduled to release next week on, obviously, April 20th, 2020. Arriving in both high and low iterations, both will be available from adidas and select retailers, with price tags of $120 and $100, respectively.
