adidas’ color-changing Xeno technology has come and gone since it debuted back in 2013, usually added to an exisiting model for a bit of flair. This week, that model is the modernized LXCON, which hit retail shelves earlier this week.

Originally released in 1994, the adidas LXCON was a purpose-built running shoe, designed for long distance with plenty of cushioning to keep your feet comfortable. However, the silhouette quickly disappeared from the brand’s offerings as the year went on, fading into the background as one a vintage fan-favorite. Then, suddenly, in 2019, adidas revived the silhouette, not only rereleasing the beloved original, but modernizing it for an entirely new look. Now, the originals team is spinning the updated LXCON in new colorways, the latest of which adds plenty of irridescent accents for a bright look, despite being largely dressed in black.
