adidas Spezial has gained a new appreciation from sneakerheads in recent years, as the vintage-themed line has begun to release collections more frequently and widely than before. Not to mention a special new project with Liam Gallagher, dropping this week.
“Who the hell is Liam Gallagher, and what the hell does he have to do with adidas and Spezial?” are two questions that thousands of American sneakerheads are asking themselves right now. While Gary Aspden would be much better suited to answer that line of inquiry, he’s not exactly on our payroll, so…here goes. Liam Gallagher is a British musician best known for being one half of the duo behind Oasis. Yes, “Wonderwall” Oasis. Since the band rose to prominence in the 90’s Liam has been very vocal about his love for adidas and their Spezial line, which has ultimately led to his involvement in their latest work, the LG SPZL. The new silhouette follows the design directives of the hundreds that have come before it. Sleek, trainer-style build, suede upper with embroidered stripes and Gallagher’s face displayed on each tongue.
LIAM GALLAGHER X ADIDAS SPEZIAL LG SPZL RELEASE INFORMATION
The adidas Spezial LG SPZL is scheduled to release later this week, on August 30th, 2019, to coincide with the singer’s new album dropping next month. The sleek new Spezial’s will likely retail somewhere above $100, and release in limited numbers from adidas and select retailers.
