Kobe Bryant’s adidas Models Return in 2022

While the Nike x Kobe Bryant partnership has been terminated, it looks like adidas will doing their very own nod to the Black Mamba with a return of some of the silhouettes he wore as a Three Stripes athlete early in his NBA career.

Before the Nike collaboration we all know Kobe footwear for today, the rising NBA star was the face of adidas Basketball. Signing his deal in 1996 and finding his way to Nike in 2003, Kobe and adidas had a great couple of years as he found his way in the league, found his Mamba mentality, and turned into the basketball player we all know and loved. Now as his wife Vanessa, explores deals and partnerships to extend his legacy, adidas appears to have 2022 on lock-in celebration of some classic shoes Kobe sported on the court along with his first-ever signature shoe.

Set to bring back the EQT Elevation (now called Crazy 97 EQT) which Kobe sported on the court during his rookie season, the silhouettes have been confirmed for two returning colorways which will feature the purple and gold “Lakers” colorway that he wore during the 1997 NBA Dunk Contest along with a brand new blue and orange rendition that is expected to feature the Cleveland Cavaliers and the 1997 All-Star Game festivities as the games are set to return to the city next year in 2022 as well.

The second silhouette that will be returning is the Kobe 1, now known as the Crazy 1. Dubbed as Kobe’s first-ever signature shoe, the sneaker debuted all the way back in 2001, and will now be returning in the original “Sunshine” offering along with the white shelled “Stormtrooper” makeover.

It will be interesting to see where adidas goes with the next year as they look to execute the return of Kobe’s favorite adidas models perfectly. Expect to see the Crazy 1 and Crazy 97 EQT to hit shelves in a variety of different colors all year long in 2022 via select adidas retailers and adidas.com.
