The adidas Kamanda is one of the most anticipated Three Stripes models this year and has been teased by people close to the brand for months now, with no word on a release. Now, we have our first official look at the Kamanda in a new “Burgundy” colorway.

adidas is making some interesting plays in 2018. The German sportswear giant has fully embraced the chunky “Dad” shoe trend while continuing to flesh out their standard Boost runners classic Originals. Now, the Three Stripes is introducing a new lifestyle silhouette to their arsenal. The adidas Kamanda utilizes the adidas design ideology of taking inspiration from the past and reworking it for the future. The latest silhouette bears a strong resemblance to timeless adidas models like the Campus or Stan Smith, though with a new twist. the Kamanda features a single piece suede upper completed by a mesh tongue. The sole is the most attention-grabbing piece of the shoe, similar to the bumpy Prophere silhouette from earlier this year. The Kamanda makes use of a rough outsole built for traction and grip. The vulcanized rubber is formed into hundreds of tiny nubs covering the sole, giving the shoe better friction against smooth surfaces. The latest colorway of the Kamanda to surface online covers the shoe in a rich burgundy tone, similar to the CP Company pair set to release sometime this year.
