A new NBA season means a new line of signature shoes. adidas just rolled out James Harden’s fourth pair, the adidas Harden Vol. 4.

Looks can be deceiving as the Harden Vol. 4 looks to be very similar to the Vol. 3 but the shoe is quite different. One of the biggest changes is who will be helping Harden design the hardwood sneakers. The Harden Vol. 4 will be put together by adidas and Street-Wear designer, Daniel Patrick. Harden explains, “Daniel Patrick has been setting trends with his use of bold looks and bright colors, so partnering with Daniel was the perfect way to highlight the design of the Vol. 4 and bring sport, fashion and culture together.” So gear up to see the Harden Vol. 4 take on great colorways and designs. If the four launch colorways have anything to show what’s next, the Vol.4 looks to be Harden’s best.

Although they look nice and the colorways look to be on lock, performance-wise, a lot of changes were made. For one, the sneaker will not feature Boost cushioning in the midsole. The team has swapped their best cushioning system to something that is very compatible but is performance heavy. The midsole will call upon LIGHTSTRIKE, which swaps the Boost for a very light midsole that provides the perfect balance of lightweight cushioning and on-court responsiveness. Designed with Harden’s athletic ability in mind, LIGHTSTRIKE offers elite quickness, full movement support, and improved step-in comfort. Other distinct features are an additive midfoot band that brings extra stability to the table and an upgraded traction pattern placed on the midsole delivers ultimate grip.

Overal the Harden Vol. 4 looks to be a perfect mix of fashion and performance. Daniel Patrick the designer said it best, “The look of a basketball shoe is just as important as the performance in today’s game, so we made sure to push the boundaries in both. We all worked closely together to make sure the swagger and style that James carries was brought to life with this Harden Vol. 4 colorway and through the larger adidas Basketball collection to come.” adidas, Harden and Patrick are up to something, the adidas Harden Vol. 4 can be the most interesting signature shoe this season. Performance-wise we knew the Harden checked out but fans always complained about lack of looks and the Harden Vol. 4 looks to be the best of both worlds.
