adidas’ retro technologies have made a huge return in 2019, helping to fuel some of the brand’s new releases along the way. This week, another retro has surfaced, this time in the form of 1998’s EQT Solution, now known as the FYW 98.

The adidas retros are continuing into 2020. After the brand introduced a series of releases paying homage to their retro tech, we’ve seen an unprecedented run of vintage adidas gems, from the FYW 97 runner to the Torsion Comp. Now, adidas is readying to re-release the EQT Solution from 1998, which debuted on the tail end of the brand’s Feet You Wear franchise, one of the last running shoes to feature the technology. Now going by the name FYW 98, the silhouette was slightly ahead of its time in the 90s, thanks to heavily-layered design that emphasized curves and natural motion. The shoes Three Stripes are represented by three oversized rubber inserts attached to the midsole, reinforcing the rear section of the shoe. The latest colorway of the retro runner paints the shoe in a highly contrasting color scheme, starting with a white base and layered with navy blue and red overlays.
