The adidas FYW-97’s strong return to the brand’s arsenal has been a welcome addition to old school fans. This week, adidas continues their success with a new Gucci-inspired look for the retro runner.
adidas’ archives are filled with thousands of silhouettes, each with their own unique story and fan base. This year, the brand is celebrating a few of those special silhouettes from their past to celebrate their contribution to the brand’s history. One of these is the adidas Equipment Salvation, a 1997 runner featuring the famous Feet You Wear technology. Combining FYW with a Torsion bar, the Salvation was recently dusted off and brought back into the brand’s arsenal as the adidas FYW S-97.
This week, adidas has a new colorway of the fabled FYW-97 on their hands, decking out the sleek runner in a Gucci-inspired theme. First, the silhouette is covered entirely in a deep black, from midsole to mesh to overlays. Next, the forefoot leather overlays are dyed in a dark Legend Ivy green, while red trim and side panels round out the new look.
ADIDAS ORIGINALS FYW-97 “GUCCI” RELEASE INFORMATION
adidas’ latest entry in the revival of their FYW-97 is scheduled to release this week, on June 16th, 2019. As per usual, this sleek colorway will retail for $140 and release from both adidas and select retailers.
