adidas’ penchant for retro sneakers almost always end up with a modern-day version of whatever classic shoe if their focus at the moment. This year, that honor goes to the Forum, which just got a Boost-filled upgrade from the Three Stripes this week.

The adidas Forum has released in dozens of new styles and colorways throughout this year, so it’s only inevitable that adidas decided to rehash the quintessential court shoe for the modern era. Released quietly earlier this week, the latest variant on the classic basketball shoe, the Forum Tech Boost is here, adding a range of new materials and technologies to the basic Forum. The upper has been significantly parred down, removing excess materials and stitching in favor of taped or heat-sealed seams and lightweight, synthetic fabrics. The sole, however, is the main attraction, featuring a translucent rubber casing to house the full-length Boost cushioning hidden inside.
