adidas Originals is gearing up for a celebration of 1984’s Forum basketball shoe, which marked a large shift in adidas’ product back in the day. This week, the Forum Low OG has emerged in a number of new colorways, including this beige & navy blue combo, coming soon.
The adidas Forum basketball show first debuted in 1984, replacing the Top Ten as the Three Stripes’ premier basketball shoe. Priced at $100, a nearly unthinkable high for the time, the Forum quickly became the standard for all-leather basketball shoes, thanks to its availability in both low and high formats. Now, the Forum is a piece of history, celebrated as a stepping stone in basketball footwear technology as well as a major influence on adidas design for decades to come. This year, the Three Stripes is celebrating the historic silhouette, reviving the Forum in its original iteration with plenty of colorways to go around releasing throughout the year. Today we have an early look at the subtle “Orbit Grey” color scheme, which was already previewed earlier this week in a High format. The neutral color scheme mixes a handful of white and grey tones, creating a heavily layered look for the leather shoe.
ADIDAS ORIGINALS FORUM 84 LOW OG “ORBIT GREY” RELEASE INFORMATION
adidas Originals’ next release in the ongoing Forum retro revival has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to land at retailers sometime in the coming weeks. The Forum 84 OG Low in the “Orbit Grey” makeup will be available from both adidas and select retailers, with the usual price tag of $110 per pair. UPDATE 3/10/21: adidas’ matching “Orbit Grey” set of the Forum ’84 in both high and low variations has now been scheduled to release later this month, on March 20th, 2021. The date comes from Italian retailer SivesDescalzo, though the global release will likely occur in tandem, so stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for further details regarding this release.
