The adidas EQT franchise has had an interesting few years. Since its grand return in 2015, new silhouettes have popped up somewhat sparingly. Now, we have our first new look for 2019, the new EQT Gazelle.

the adidas Equipment line has always been about stripping back unnecessary details and focusing on what is truly important for a shoe. While this storied franchise was first introduced, and subsequently left in the 1990s, adidas’ recent revival of a fan-favorite franchise as led to numerous new silhouettes in the retro style since. While some have been hits, and others sleepers, this month the Three Stripes is back with an aggressive new look just for women. Titled the EQT Gazelle, the silhouette takes some inspiration from various recent silhouettes, along with some aggressive new additions.

the adidas EQT Gazelle begins with athick mesh base layer in the upper to conform to your feet as you wear them. supported by a flexible plastic TPU plate under the midfoot for added versatility. The forefoot is the most striking part of the EQT Gazelle, which features three aggressive tooth-like overlays reaching from the midsole to eyelets to act as extra lacing options. Another thin leather overlay wraps around each heel, strengthening your Achilles with each step. Finally, the midsole is separated into two distinct sections, the heel and the forefoot, held together by the aforementioned midfoot plate. Two colorways will mark the debut of the new EQT Gazelle, one in navy blue with overlays in white and neon green accents, and the second in bright orange with white overlays and vibrant purple accents.

The new adidas EQT Gazelle has now been officially announced for release later this month on July 20th, 2019. The chunky hybrid of two all-time great adidas silhouettes will retail for a casual $110, and will be available from both adidas and select retailers.
