adidas BYW technology is currently all the rage amongst sneakerheads. With many still waiting for a chance to try it on foot, it appears the line is expanding as adidas finally unveiled the CRAZY BYW X this morning.

This new addition to the adidas CRAZY line is anything but standard for the brand with the Three Stripes. The adidas CRAZY BYW X is a hybrid shoe, designated for both strong on-court support and flexibility, as well as casual all-day comfort off-court. This makes the look of the shoe all the more appealing, as it works well for both aesthetically, too. The upper features a combination of knit, mesh, and possibly a more sturdy material like suede for added padding and layering. The mesh makes up most of the forefoot, with a knit material constructing a sock-like collar for the ankle. Patches of suede and other durable, soft materials add protection around the ankles and mid-foot. The sole is very interesting for this model, containing the separated Boost pods that make up BYW, while adding a rubberized layer around the forefoot sections to add stability and rigidity to the Boost. The first colorway to release will feature a mostly black upper, accented by hits of white embroidery and purple lace loops. The back Boost pod is dyed black as well, while the rubber cap on the forefoot comes in a plain white. The collar features dual pull tabs, with the front containing both adidas Originals and Performance branding, a nod to the shoe’s ability to flex the new BYW tech both on and off court.
