adidas’ First-Ever Crazy 8 Low in “Legend Ink” Available Now

adidas Crazy 8 silhouette originated in 1997, crafted as a signature sneaker for Kobe Bryant, who was signed to the brand at the time. This week, nearly thirty years after its launch, adidas has dropped a new low-top version of the model, available now.

adidas’ retro basketball lineup has evolved immensely in the last few years. This year has brought back the Crazy 1 in a huge assortment of colors, as well as the Crazy 98 for some new releases, both of which were originally worn by Kobe Bryant during his tenure with the Three Stripes. Alongside some other new styles for the Crazy line, adidas has quietly launch an update to the ’90s Crazy 8.

adidas has teamed up with Hoop York City for an unexpected new project this week. Founded in 2018 by Alex Taylor with the purpose of providing women with the opportunity play and experience the game of basketball in a supportive and collaborative environment, the brand has helped adidas with their new low-top version of the Crazy 8. Released today, the model sports a new low cut around the heels, and comes in a smooth “Legend Ink” navy blue color scheme.
