adidas’ Consortium workshop has been paying homage to the Torsion Bar this year, one of the Three Stripes most important innovations from the 90s. This month, the celebration continues with the release of former tennis star Stefan Edberg’s Torsion Edberg Comp.

adidas Consortium’s celebration of the famous Torsion Bar continues this month with another throwback from the archives. This month, the release centers on the sportier side of the Torsion Bar’s practicality, with the return of Swedish tennis star Stefan Edberg’s Torsion Comp. Built for the courts, yet beloved in the streets, Edberg’s Torsion Comp’s style has remained a staple in adidas’ tennis shoes, as the same shape can still be seen today throughout many of their silhouettes.  However, it is, of course, the casual fans’ love of the timeless silhouette that brings it back in 2019. Constructed from a largely white leather upper, the initial colorway of the Torsion Edberg Comp adds colorful accents in deep purple and bright blue to the inner linings, underlays, and midsole pieces. More elements of orange and pink are added to help this colorway pop a little more, while neon green Torsion lace locks adorn each shoe.
