adidas sent out an unexpected email regarding something going down this month on August 25th and we have a pretty good idea what The Three Stripes may have in store.
To start piecing the puzzle together, it all started with an adidas email regarding something special going down on the 25th. The email arrived with “Your curiosity will pay off on August 25th. We can confirm – this is worth watching. Sign up for a reminder, and be the first to know.” Given the words used, when the email surfaced across social media, many sneakerheads were wondering what adidas had up their sleeves. Around the same time, a new version of the adidas Confirmed app popped up onto the app store. If you don’t know, the adidas Confirmed app was an app used by adidas previously for special and limited releases which created an interactive experience for buyers. Debuted in 2015 to coincide with Kanye’s first sneaker with The Three Stripes, the 750, we may be due for a brand new era. While the app was later discontinued in 2018, adidas has tooled with a new raffle system on the adidas app for quite some time causing many rumors of a purchasing system similar to the Nike SNKRS app looming around.
While we aren’t sure exactly what the new adidas Confirmed app will hold or if it is adidas’ take on the SNKRS app system, the description given via the app store is as follows: “adidas Originals presents a new source of exclusive sneakers and behind-the-scenes content with our new sneakers app: adidas CONFIRMED. Discover latest releases, newest hype drops and opportunities to buy the freshest men & women’s sneakers. With collabs from Pharrell, Yeezy, Human Made, and more, find the brand-new drops and retro sneaker classics like Superstar & Stan Smith.”
With the app finally looking to return after two years and adidas expecting to change the buyer’s entire way of purchasing sneakers, it’s rumored there will be a handful of different sneakers restocking on the launch date, August 25th. While no models have been confirmed or leaked, if this does happen as expected, there will likely be a bunch of coveted kicks up for grabs. UPDATE 8/25: The new adidas CONFIRMED app is now available to download on the App Store and Google Play. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like there will be any restocks, but you can sign up for upcoming launches such as the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Superstar and Yeezy 700 V3 Arzareth.
