adidas is kicking off 2020 with a brand new 4D-equipped silhouette. Titled the 4D Run 1.0, the new shoe first appeared on our radar a few months ago before finally surfacing in official images this week.

adiads Futurecraft technology has come a long way since the first 3D-printed midsole was previewed in 2016. Now, the adaptable cushioning system goes by 4D, and is noticeably different from its predecessor. The current version is created through Continuous Liquid Interface Production (explained here), and results in a squishy, lattice-like structure with incredible energy return properties and cuztomization possibilities. Since its debut, 4D technology has slowly become more widely available with each passing year. This year looks to be the best year for 4D yet, with the addition of the new 4D Run 1.0 to adidas’ lineup, as well as a new low pricepoint of $250 for the underfoot innovation, and even a black version of the lattice, no DIY-dyeing required.
