The adidas 4D Run 1.0 finally landed at retail last month, setting off a new wave for the printd technology with its lowest price yet. Now, adidas is ready to add more colors to the mix, like this tonal grey look with hint of Signal Coral coming soon.

adiads Futurecraft technology has come a long way since the first 3D-printed midsole was previewed in 2016. Now, the adaptable cushioning system goes by 4D, and is noticeably different from its predecessor. The current version is created through Continuous Liquid Interface Production (explained here), and results in a squishy, lattice-like structure with incredible energy return properties and cuztomization possibilities. Since its debut, 4D technology has slowly become more widely available with each passing year. 2020 looks to be a landmark year for 4D, as the addition of the new 4D Run 1.0 to adidas’ lineup brought the entry price for the technology down to just $220, its lowest yet. And now, this week, adidas has announced more colorways are coming soon. The latest version adds a tonal grey look to the majority of the shoe’s knit upper, as well as black taped overlays along the quarter panels and heel. The reinforcing TPU heel clip comes in Signal Coral to add a flash of color, while the 4D’s natural green tone completes the look.

adidas Performance’s next colorway of the Futurecraft-equipped 4D Run 1.0 has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to hit retail shelves sometime in the next few weeks. This “Signal Coral” colorway continues with the lowest price yet for 4D, coming in at $250 a pair.
