adidas’ releases of the BW Army trainer are taking off this season. With a number of successful collabs now out in the world, the Stripes are ready to issue an update to the icon, the new BW Run, arriving later this week.

The revival of adidas’ vintage BW Army trainer began late in 2024, with the launch of Hartcopy’s first collaboration. The Stripes began their own in-line launches early in 2025 with both premium and more standard material versions on offer. END. Clothing snuck in with their anniversary “Chip Shop” release in Spring, before releases slowed down for the remainder of ’25. This season, they’ve ramped back up with new in-line styles, a second release from Hartcopy, and more collabs from Kith and The Whitaker Group.

This week, a new variant of the BW trainer has surfaced via adidas’ release calendar, marking the second riff on the iconic West German Army shoe we’ve seen in the last few weeks. The first was the BW 2000, a puffier, skate shoe-like rework debuted with Whitaker last week. Now, the BW is venturing into runner territory with the BW Run. This version pairs the upper with a streamlined rubber sole reminiscent of 1970s running shoes, adding a new heel counter panel to the rear of the shoe. Four colors have been shared for the model’s debut this week, in Off-White, Grey Strata, Glow Blue, and Collegiate Red. The “Grey Strata” pair is the odd one out here; the copy features the morse code from Whitaker’s Do Not Duplicate line of shoes, while the other three do not.

ADIDAS BW RUN RELEASE INFORMATION

The Three Stripes’ latest riff on their popular BW Army trainer, dubbed BW Run, is scheduled to launch this Friday, May 8th, 2026. The new mash-up silhouette will be available in four colors at launch; Off-White, Glow Blue, Collegiate Red, and Grey Strata. All four styles will be available through the adidas Confirmed app for $120.
