The New Balance 990v5 is finally here. Still hot off the original announcement, New Balance has now shown off the first collaboration for their fan-favorite silhouette, which sees the Boston brand teaming up with Japan’s United Arrows & Sons.

The New Balance 990 is at the top of its game right now. Currently, the sleek running silhouette from Boston’s favorite sneaker brand is on a roll in both the sneaker and fashion worlds, taking over as the chief “dad” shoe of the decade. Having just introduced the latest iteration of the fabled silhouette, the 990v5, New Balance has given Japan’s United Arrows & Sons the first chance at a giving their own take on the new runner.

The United Arrows & Sons 990v5 is a clean and understated new take on the silhouette. New Balance heads will recognize the sleek as an obvious ode to NB’s classic grey color scheme turned dark to better fit the Japanese brand’s image. The mesh base layers of this pair come all in black, showing through underneath the deep grey suede overlays. The midsole is split between the forefoot in white and the heel section which comes in black and grey to match the upper. The usual New Balance N branding is present on either side with 3M accents, while 990 branding on the heel and Made in the USA tongue tags complete the look.

The latest project from Japan’s United Arrows & Sons and New Balance is now available for preorder from the overseas retailer, with delivery expected in early May. The sleek grey makeup of the 990v5 is going for a whopping $280 retail price, which makes sense given that they are manufactured here in the USA.
