Reebok’s Club C is everywhere, taking over Instagram moodboard pages with its timeless and simple style. Now, artist Tyrell Winston is giving his take on the retro model, coming soon.
New York-based artist Tyrell Winston tells stories using discarded objects from his city, documenting the journey on social media. Focusing on an affinity for basketball, Winston shares the ’embedded history’ of his found works, sharing stories of other peoples’ past through mixed media works. So, when Winston announced a new project with Reebok, it appears as both a departure from his usual work and a perfectly at home, logical step for the artist. The shoe of choice for Tyrell Winston’s Reebok collaboration is the Club C 85, a retro model originally introduced for the tennis court, but quickly became popular as a lifestyle model. Winston’s version is simple, applying an white leather upper to start, before adding laces and an inner lining in soft cream tones, removing the Reebok branding from the lateral sides, and adding a soft olive green outsole to complete the look.
TYRELL WINSTON X REEBOK CLUB C 85 RELEASE INFORMATION
Tyrell Winston’s minimal take on the classic Reebok Club C 85 has not yet been announced for release, though we are expecting them to launch sometime in the coming weeks. Featuring a nearly-all-white construction with a pale olive green outsole, this Club C will likely be available from both Reebok and select retailers, with a typical price tag of approximately $100. UPDATE 4/29/22: Reebok and Tyrell Winston have finally set a date for their upcoming Club C collaboration, as well as revealing a Question Mid as part of the collection. Slated to release initially via Winston’s personal website on May 6th, the Reebok general release will follow a week later on May 13th, 2022.
