Aimé Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis was announced as the new creative lead for New Balance late last year, and has spent the time since teasing everything from his in-line creations to the 990v6. This week, we have a much better idea of what to expect.

Last year, New Balance tapped collaborator and Aimé Leon Dore frontman Teddy Santis to become the brand’s new creative lead, directing the brand through his own lens and bringing that ALD style that has dominated menswear moodboards and sneaker blogs for the past several years. Having teased a few of his New Balance projects in the works last year, today we have our best look yet at what the designer has been up to with the Boston footwear brand for the past few months. Taking to Instagram once again, Santis showed off a top-down grid of his New Balance Made in USA designs. While the limited angle only shows the top of the shoes, it’s pretty hard to miss the 990 branding seen across the tongues of most, indicating a healthy number of 990 and 990v3 releases throughout the year.

The first projects from Teddy Santis’ initial work as New Balance’s creative lead have not yet been announced for release, though we are expecting them to slowly rollout starting in Spring 2022. Featuring premium colorways of the 990, 991, 992, and 993, the range of new footwear will likely be available in limited numbers from both New Balance and select retailers, and likely carrying price tags of at least $180 due to the ‘Made in USA’ nature. Check out Teddy’s teaser below for a better look, and stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for more New Balance release news.
