size? April 2020 releases are not letting up. In addition to several other projects announced earlier this week, the release calendar also includes the Reebok GL6000 in size?’s “Factory Mix-Up” iteration, mirroring the shoe’s usual construction.

Reebok and size? first teamed up for the “Mix-Up” series in Fall 2019, beginning with the NPC II workout trainer. The concept is simple: what would happen if a factory received instructions for making a shoe, and read them backward? While the first iteration of this project, from 2019, simply reversed the upper, placing the medial side outward and vice versa, this month’s GL6000 takes a slightly different approach, turning the upper’s base layer inside out. The result is an interesting looking shoe; the quarter panels, where you would typically see Reebok branding, is instead represented by simple stitching around the borders of the overlays, while other outside reinforcements around the whole; a suede mudguard and heel counter, are still present, likely to help keep the structure of the GL6000 from the outside.
