When adding Sean Wotherspoon to a sneaker, the reveal demands immediate attention. While the vintage connoisseur turned sneaker designer has been working on adidas’ Superstar, he now will be adding the Superturf Adventure to his arsenal with the help from Disney’s Jiminy Cricket.
Thanks to Nike’s Air Max 97, Sean Wotherspoon has made an enormous name for himself in the sneaker industry. Jumping to asics and adidas for collaborations after his success with Nike, it looks like the designer has found a steady home with The Three Stripes for the time being which is a huge get for adidas with 2021 being a lackluster year compared to other brands, to say the least. While the designer started his adidas partnership with the Superstar, many felt the collaboration was lacking compared to his previous corduroy and brightly colored vintage-inspired designs but this Superturf Adventure is right up the Wotherspoon alley and boasts the vibes we all love the designer for.
Going back to corduroy, the Superturf Adventure comes constructed with a durable purple corduroy base while mesh and leather overlays flood the silhouette and shape the Superturf like never before. Keeping the same bright hues and staying true to the outdoorsy theme, orange, dark teal, light blue, and khaki all make an appearance with additional green Three Stripes branding across the sides. In an effortless fashion, Jiminy Cricket can be found sitting behind the tongue zipper as a corduroy pouch is added on top of the lacing system in expected Sean Wotherspoon fashion. A white adiPRENE midsole and dark green outsole finish off the design while a tote is included in your purchase that highlights the sneakers design.
