Saucony’s ProGrid Omni 9 retro runner has been a focal point of their recent collaborations. This week, they’ve finally released the shoes enhanced Armor version, a more rugged version with rubberized TPU outer shells.
Saucony has seen a strong surge in popularity over the last few years, expanding their collaborative projects to new partners and retailers. The main focus of recent releases has been some older running models that have been repurposed for lifestyle wear, most notably the ProGrid Omni 9. The silhouette has seen new styles from Jae Tips, FootPatrol, and Starcow, the latter of which debuted the new Armor edition late in 2024.
The first appearance of Saucony’s Armor edition ProGrid Omni 9 landed last year, through a Starcow collab. The enhanced version of the shoe gives it a more rugged material selection, including a nylon mesh base layer and rubberized TPU overlays across the upper. Now, the Armor version is finally available globally, with Saucony releasing three of their five new colors today. Right now, the black, grey, and green monotone styles are available from the brand’s website, with cream and brown colors to follow soon.
