Saucony has been beefing up their slate of retro options in recent years, reviving some old fan-favorite runners for a new life as a casual wear model. One of the most popular options has been the Grid Shadow 2, which arrived this week in a new “RipStop” trio.
Saucony’s retro shoes are having a moment right now, as older running models continue to dominate popular sneaker culture. The Grid Shadow 2 has been the main focus for lifestyle repurposing in the last year, with collaborations from Jae Tips and Bodega bringing the shoe to wider audiences. With another Jae Tips project on the way this week, the Boston brand has quietly released a new collection of premium colors for the Grid Shadow 2, available now
The latest styles of the Grid Shadow 2 are out now, and come as a collection for the “Ripstop” pack. Dubbed as the silhouette’s Premium edition by the brand, all three of these styles feature a ripstop base layer with nubuck outer layers, for a more rugged, outdoor look. One look mixes a bright magenta base with dark blue overlays, while another comes in avocado green with beige secondary tones. Finally, the third style comes with a beige underlay and dark maroon overlays.
