The Reebok First Pitch program only opened its doors at the beginning of August, and already the release platform is onto its third release. This week, the Club C gets a tennis-inspired makeover for the “Open Membership” look, limited to 500 pairs.

Reebok First Pitch works like this: ‘Bok designers come up with a shoe and create a ‘pitch’ for consumers, consisting of rendered images and a background story. Then, the shoe is launched on the Reebok website, with a limited number of pairs available (500 for pairs for each so far). The price starts off at just $1, gradually increasing by $1 with every purchase until it reaches the silhouettes retail price, at which the rest of the pairs will be sold. If all 500 are sold, the shoes are made and sent to those who funded, and the rest of us are out of luck. Every release is packed with a massive amount of detail. This week’s drop, the “Open Membership” Club C, takes inspiration from the tennis world, adding tennis ball “fur” to the shoe’s lining and heel tabs, court graphics on various Reebok labels, and a net printed across the outsole.

Reebok’s next release via their new First Pitch platform, which puts the decision to produce shoes on consumers, has been scheduled to drop on Monday, August 21st, 2020. Inspired by tennis clubs and the social aspects of them, the “Open Membership” Club C will start at just $1, rising in price by $1 until it reaches the $90 retail price, though this release is limited to just 500 pairs.
