Reebok’s Beatnik sandal was revived in 2020, bringing the utilitarian slipper into the modern day. Now, the Reebok team has unveiled an updated version of the classic outdoor shoe, the Beatnik Moc, coming soon.

Back in 2020, when we were all stuck indoors for the bulk of the year, sneaker releases saw a massive uptick in comfortable, easy-to-wear footwear from brands around the industry. Among them was the Reebok Beatnik, a sandal silhouette that had been slowly gaining in popularity after a limited release in Japan in 2018. Now, the Beatnik is back in full, and available in a range of colors from your local ‘Bok stores. This week, the Reebok team has unveiled an updated version of the shoe, the Beatnik Moc, for the outdoor world, taking inspiration from archive of outdoor hiking models and the “growing desire for functional, fashionable silhouettes.” Rebuilding the simple design for full-foot coverage, the Moc version features a flexible neoprene collar to keep you locked in, paired with a solid suede upper held together by the Beatnik’s iconic center seam construction. New panels have been added to the heels to add more support, while a Reebok Vector logo and heel pull tabs complete the new look. The Beatnik Moc is gearing up to make its debut this month, arriving in Sandstone, Obsidian, and Amber color schemes.
