wSaucony Originals first revived the Aya last year, to plenty of praise from their fans. Now, a year later, the Massachusettes-based brand is handing the reigns over to Canada’s Raised By Wolves for a special release of the ’90s runner.

The Saucony Aya was first released in 1994, as a new ultralight distance running shoe for the brand. Discontinued the same year, the Aya (meaning ‘Fly Swiftly’) would not reappear on retail shelves for another 25 years, in 2019. With a few colorwys behind them, the Massachusettes-based sneaker brand has given Canada’s Raised By Wolves a chance to create their own take on the sleek runner. Themed after “Asphalt Jungles”, the limited-editiomn Aya features a striking all-grey color scheme to paint the picture of a city scape. Flashes of color add to the look, interpresting colorful lights and signs. The outsole of the forefoot comes in a bright ghostly green tone, while the sockliner is constructed from orange leather. The tongue lining also stands out with a neon red tone, and features a Muska-esque zippered stash pocket on the inside.

Raised By Wolves’ new project with Saucony releases first today, January 18th, exclusively from the Canadian retailer, followed by a wider global release coming up on the 25th. The retail price for this high-end “Asphalt Jungle” Aya is set at $130.
