The Pharrell x adidas NMD Hu “White” is Now Available

While we just saw a couple of renditions of Pharrell’s adidas NMD Hu surface without the Trail outsoles, it looks like the visionary is back to his old ways with yet another edition of his NMD Hu surfacing in a clean “White” colorway.

Taking a look at a black and chocolate iteration set to release soon as well, Pharrell appears to be dropping a clean all-white colorway that fans have been waiting on since the debut of the designers adidas collaboration. While we haven’t seen much of Pharrell and adidas as of late on the NMD Hu with hype vanishing due to the unwearable trail outsole, now that the sole is back to its OG self, the hype has returned and with colorways like this White edition, that hype will continue to grow.

While we haven’t gotten an all-white Pharrell NMD, many sneakerheads will have to put the bad taste in their mouth from previous Pharrell sneakers aside and enjoy this edition that has been anticipated for years. The entire primeknit is bathed in white where tonal accents are placed in throughout on the lace cage, laces, and foreign embroidered lettering on the toes. A white Boost midsole arrives with matching EVA plugs and even a white outsole. The only use of another shade is black on the sockliner which allows the snowy upper to pop even more.

A release date has not been scheduled for this White Pharrell x adidas NMD Hu but with official images surfacing we expect a drop to go down sometime very soon via select retailers and adidas.com for most likely $250. UPDATE 11/26: Pharrell’s team was kind enough to send us a pair of the “White” Hu NMD releasing this week to get a feel for the reworked silhouette. As many fans of the project have noted over the years, the addition of the chunkier, rugged trail sole to the Hu NMD in late 2017 negatively affected the overall look and feel of the shoe, removing some of the original design’s sleekness as well as adding an uneven amount of weight centered on the bottom of the shoe. These two factors seemed to lead to a break in Hu NMD releases in 2019, and the eventual return of the beloved model in 2020, now reverted back to its original form. Releasing in a series of tonal colorways, including our white pair here, the Pharrell x adidas Hu NMD is just as great as when it first released, providing all of the same comfort and style, but now with several years more experience using some of the advanced materials involved like Boost cushioning and the shoe’s Primeknit upper. Overall, this return to form is a welcome change for the Hu family, bringing a classic back into the release lineup.
