New Balance’s 1906L Gets a Suede Pack Upgrade in Two Colors

New Balance’s 1906L was one of the most divisive new releases of 2024. Transforming the 1906 base into a loafer with only slight modifications, the model is back for 2025, with a new two-piece Suede Pack on the way.

The 1906 model from New Balance took an interesting turn last year with the introduction of the L variant, which took the retro runner and turned the upper into a loafer. The shoe’s performance midsole remained the same, and the upper featured most of the shoe’s recognizable paneling, but with a more formal construction and slip-on build. After releasing a number of pairs in the usual mesh and synthetic textiles, New Balance is taking it a step further with their Suede Pack.

Bringing an all-suede build to the 1906L is an excellent choice for the half-sneaker-half dress shoe silhouette. The soft and pliable leather will break in quite nicely, creating a snug and comfortable fit over time. The construction has not been altered for this release, though the lip around the toe box is now more pronounced, and the plastic heel cages remain intact. Two colors will be available initially, one in all black and the second in a Rich Oak brown shade.

NEW BALANCE 1906L SUEDE PACK RELEASE INFORMATION

New Balance’s upcoming premium edition Suede Pack of the 1906L has not been announced yet, but will launch sometime soon in 2025. Coming in either Rich Oak brown or plain black colors, pairs will be available from both New Balance and select retailers for $160.

Nike Air Max Sunder in “Pinksicle” Releases in 2025

Nike is gearing up for a big year with their Air Max Sunder retro, with more and more colors popping up to fill their release calendar. This week, a new “Pinksicle” and army green pair has surfaced, for a release in women’s sizing.

The return of the Sunder to Nike’s arsenal was first teased a few years ago, when CdG released a limited collaboration featuring the model in three colors. The running shoe was first introduced in the 2000s, with its zippered shroud providing an easy on/off system and light weather protection. Now, the sleek Air Max shoe is back for its first-ever full retro releases, with a wide range of colors coming in 2025.

This week, we have already had an early look at Nike’s “Hyper Violet” color of the Sunder, adding to a growing array of gradient color scheme. Another pair featuring the color change from toe to heel has surfaced, this time as a women’s sizing exclusive. The “Pinksicle” pair featured a neon pink toe that faded to black at the heels, and is framed by mudguards, heels, and zippers in a Light Army olive green shade.

Nike’s “Blue Gradient” Air Max Sunder Arrives in January 2025

The Air Max Sunder is one of our favorite retro Nike releases of the past few years, and they have done a great job of updating the classic shoe with new colors. This week, a “Blue Gradient” style has joined their upcoming release slate.

Nike’s Air Max Sunder from the turn of the century got its first-ever retro release this year. The return of the iconic zippered running shoe was heralded by a collaboration with CdG several years ago, though those pairs were made in small numbers and are hard to come by. The Sunder has seen a surge in popularity online since then, pressuring Nike to reissue the model for the first time since 1999.

With a few releases already under their belt, including a Gore-Tex pack, their upcoming releases for the rest of 2024 and 2025 have begun to appear. This week, we have an early look at a “Blue Gradient” style currently expected to be a Spring ’25 release. This pair features a neoprene upper that fades from light to dark blue starting at the toes. The rest of the shoe comes in black, with a tough more blue for the Air bubbles and perforations.

The Air Jordan 1 Low MM Satin in “Earth” Arrives in 2025

The Air Jordan 1 Low MM series first launched early this year, and was designed to bring interesting new styles and constructions to the iconic shoe. Next year, an all-satin pair is coming, with an “Earth” color scheme.

The Air Jordan 1 Low MM is returning with a new look next year. Short for Method of Make, the series featured both low and high-top pairs of the AJ1. The high-top featured a deconstructed, layered look, while the low added woven elements to the design with an emphasis on unique manufacturing methods. Now, the shoe returns with a new all-satin look in 2025.

Jordan Brand has experimented with all-satin shoes before, with each try largely heralded as a great success. Now, the AJ1 Low MM is getting the all-satin treatment, with some edits to its design for a simplified look. No more toe perforations, and the shoes panels are divided by simple stitching lines. The first color of the new look is a tonal “Earth” style, a red-brown hybrid with a luxurious feel with the satin textile.

Devin Booker’s “Forrest Gump” Nike Book 1 Releases This Month

Devin Booker has been on a hell of a run with his Nike Book 1 signature sneaker. Paying homage to his own history with a number of colors, this month the “Forrest Gump” PE style is getting a wider release.

In 2024, Devin Booker released his first signature shoe with Nike, the Book 1. The model, which is inspired by classics like the Air Force 1 but ready for all levels of performance on the court, has had a wide array of colors land over the last year. Booker and the Nike team have used the model as a template for Book to tell his personal stories, and some tangential ones through special PE pairs.

One of the more elusive pairs of the Book 1 has been his “Forrest Gump” PE style that appeared early in the 2024 season. The shoe followed the color blocking of the iconic Cortez shoe from the movie, but has only been seen on Devin’s feet so far. Now, word of a public release has surfaced, rumored to drop later this month. The model comes in white, with red accents for the Swooshes and heel tabs, and a blue stripe through the midsole to complete the look.

Late in 2024, Nike reissued the Clogposite, a simple slip-on version of their Flightposite silhouette from the 1990s. With the retro run in full swing, new colors like this “Ironstone” brown pair have emerged, coming soon.

Nike’s iconic wave of basketball shoes from the ’90s are back on trend recently, and the Swoosh has pulled out a number of incredible silhouettes from the archives to feed the masses. Among them was the Flightposite, a molded foam shoe with a unique laceless design, along with its counterpart, the slip-on Clogposite. The latter seems to be their latest contribution to the newfound love of mule shoes, and continues to arrive in new colors for 2025.

This week, another monotone pair of the Clogposite has surfaced, releasing sometime in Spring 2025, likely alongside the “Light Army” look. The new colorway comes in a rich “Ironstone” brown, which makes up everything from the molded outer shell to the neoprene shroud over the tongues, and the outsoles.
