New Balance’s Smooth “Salmon” 990v6 Releases in March

New Balance’s 990v6, the sixth evolution of their iconic running line, has been a staple of their Made in USA catalog since its debut. This week, we got an early look at an upcoming pair in a smooth “Salmon” pink color, coming soon.

New Balance has expanded their lifestyle offerings dramatically in recent years; exploring more colors and modern sneaker constructions. However, they have kept their iconic simple styles going, using models like the 990v6 to bridge the gap between performance and lifestyle footwear. The silhouette is gearing up for another year of excellent releases, like new collaborations from Action Bronson in addition to new in-line styles.

This week, one of New Balance’s upcoming in-line styles from their Spring 2025 slate has surfaced. The pair paints the slick silhouette in “Salmon” pink tones, using a bit of variety in hue across the mesh, leather, and suede layers to achieve the clean look. Some of the branding elements add touches of metallic silver and grey, with a split grey and white midsole underneath to complete the look.

Dohee Kim x New Balance 509 in Red & Black Coming Soon

New Balance apparently has big plans for their 509 retro this year, with more collaborations surfacing this week. This time, Dohee Kim has created two more styles for a Fall release, featuring shaggy suede and red & black colors.

The New Balance 509 originally launched in the early 2000s as a simple performance runner. The model has been stuck in their archives ever since, until late last year when South Korean designer Dohee Kim helped debut the Boston brand’s new retro run with a two-piece pack of colorways in black and plum purple. Then, during Paris Fashion Week last week, CdG showed off a new collaboration featuring the model, poising the shoe for a big year in 2025.

Barely a week after our first look at the CdG edition of the 509, Dohee Kim has unveiled their next project featuring the simple model, set for a Fall release. Once again crafting two colorways, this set drops the patent leather overlays of the previous release in favor of shaggy suede textiles. Layered on top of a wide gauge mesh, pairs come in either a bright red or dark purple and black combo. Both feature distressed midsoles to give them an aged look.

Dohee Kim’s next release of the New Balance 509 has not been given a set release date yet, but is expected to release in Fall of 2025. This time featuring shaggy suede panels in either bright red or black, pairs will likely be available through select NB retailers. No pricing information is available yet.

The OG adidas Ultra Boost Returns for the 10-Year Anniversary

The adidas Ultra Boost is already turning ten years old in 2025. The running shoe revolutionized adidas and their place in the sneaker market, and now, the Three Stripes are bringing back the shoe’s OG color scheme to celebrate.

In 2015, adidas introduced the Ultra Boost. At the time, the performance running shoe was one of the first to feature their then-brand new Boost technology, an ultra soft, high rebound cushioning foam made from compressed individual beads. Now, that same tech has been adapted into a number of technologies by different brands, and adidas continues to iterate on their original formula. With the Ultra Boost silhouette turning ten this year, the Three Stripes has some fun releases in store for the occasion.

One of their upcoming releases to celebrate ten years of Ultra Boost is the shoe’s OG color scheme. The shoe that made performance running shoes cool, as seen on Kanye West before exploding onto the market, is reportedly releasing in February. By now, we are very familiar with the all-black look paired with a purple heel counter and gold branding, and its a pleasant surprise to see them returning for another release. The last time we saw this pair on shelves was in 2020, when the Ultra Boost 1.0 made a triumphant return at the request of many sneakerheads.
