Asics history in the world of sporting goods has inspired a new collaboration this month, from Amsterdam brand Lack of Guidance. The release features a boldly color-blocked pair of the GEL-Quantum 360 in orange and black.
In 1998, Japan’s national soccer team wore a kit designed and manufactured by Asics to the World Cup hosted in France. The kit has been a sought-after grail by soccer and streetwear fans ever since, with its heavy emphasis on a flame graphic across the entire collection of gear. The goalie jersey is particularly of note, featuring flames across the entire piece. This jersey has inspired a new Asics collaboration with Amsterdam brand Lack of Guidance, releasing this week.
Lack of Guidance is a Dutch brand based in Amsterdam, focused on streetwear. Their upcoming release with Asics marks their first foray into the world of footwear and sneakers, and they are kicking things off with a bang. Inspired by the 1998 Japanese World Cup kit, the GEL-Quantum 360 is their canvas for the release. The shoe sports a flame orange mesh across its entire base layer, with overlays and midsoles added entirely in black. Small hints of metallic silver adorn the Asics branding and laces.
