Los Angeles ping pong club and apparel brand Little Tokyo Table Tennis has unveiled their sophomore collaboration with Asics this week. The two have reunited for a duo of GEL-Resolution 5 colors, retrofitting the tennis model for table tennis.
Little Tokyo Table Tennis is a unique community initiative based in Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo district. The group meets every Tuesday evening to play and celebrate the sport of table tennis, and has grown into a full-fledged brand supplying its members and the community at large with gear and apparel direct from the ping pong world. LTTT entered the world of footwear last year through a collaboration with Japan’s Asics, releasing a bold yellow take on the GEL-Nimbus 10.1. The project was an interesting one, using a standard-issue pair of the Nimbus for its base, modifying the tongues and adding unique laces for the release.
This week, LTTT has unveiled their follow-up project with Asics, this time creating their unique take on the GEL-Resolution 5. The silhouette was first introduced in 2013 as a performance tennis offering, featuring a unique TPU heel cage that wraps down and around the shoe’s midsole for strong stability around the rear. Little Tokyo has brought two playful designs to the table for this release, one in white and the other in lime green. Both pairs sport little floral details around the toe overlays, as well as a similar graphic on the mesh midfoot, tucked underneath the Asics branding. Each colorway uses a different kind of mesh for the base layer, and adds semi-transparent overlays across the silhouette.
LTTT X ASICS GEL-RESOLUTION 5 RELEASE INFORMATION
The next release from Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo Table Tennis and Asics has been scheduled to release next month, on July 25th, 2026. Their sophomore project revived the GEL-Resolution 5 tennis shoe, repurposing the style for table tennis with colorways in white and lime green. Pairs will be available from both partners on the same day. Pricing is currently unknown.
