Ronnie Fieg Teases a Kith x Salomon XT-Whisper

0

Kith is gearing up for another big year in collaborations. Still hot off of their “Kithmas” release with Salomon, Ronnie Fieg has teased another release from the French outdoor brand, featuring the XT-Whisper retro.

Salomon’s outdoor-minded trail running shoes have exploded in popularity over the last few years, thanks to their excellent durability and their flashy, tech-forward style. The French brand’s most popular models are their running styles, which have been repurposed for lifestyle wear with some slight tweaks. Now, they are beginning to rerelease archival models for casual wear, like thee XT-Whisper model that landed early this year.

Salomon has revived their XT-Whisper this year, a trail runner from 2000 originally designed as a women’s model. Now, Ronnie Fieg has teased an upcoming Kith release of the silhouette, dressing the shoe in a clean new color scheme. The Kith style features a black mesh base with black overlays, adding some metallic silver to the toes, tongues, and heels, and stripes of neon green around the heels and down each side.

Kith’s next collaboration with Salomon has not been announced for release yet, but will likely arrive sometime in the Spring/Summer 2025 season. Featuring the XT-Whisper in a black, silver, and volt green combination, pairs will be available exclusively through Kith.

The Air Jordan 10 “Shadow” Returns in 2025

Each year gives Jordan Brand a new chance to celebrate one of their iconic silhouettes, thanks to their yearly releases since 1985. Next up is the Air Jordan 10’s turn for celebration, with the model turning thirty years old soon. As of this week, the OG “Shadow” pair is rumored to release late in 2025.

Jordan Brand’s yearly releases of their mainline performance models are reaching another milestone next year, with the Air Jordan 40 likely on the way. However, this also means anniversary celebrations for a number of their other iconic models from the past four decades, like the Air Jordan 10’s thirtieth birthday later this year. However, the model appears to have some classic looks lined up for 2025.

This week brings us news of the AJ10’s original “Shadow” color scheme returning in 2025. Currently expected to release late in the year in Fall or Winter, the last time we saw this style was back in 2018, before the 10 seemingly faded into their vault in the years since. Cast in black with smooth suede main body panels in a dark grey shade, just a hint of red completes this iconic pair.

Nike is slowly rolling out this year’s Lunar New Year project, focused on the Year of the Snake. This week, Jordan unveiled their ultra-limited release for the occasion, the China-exclusive “Xuanwu” Air Jordan 1 High.

Nike and Jordan Brand have leaned into their annual Lunar New Year collections in recent years, diving deeper into Asian cultural elements to inspire their new designs. Each year, aside from the global releases, they create one ultra-limited, and incredibly detailed sneaker to release exclusively in Asia, like last year’s dragon-inspired AF1. This week, we finally have eyes on the 2025 release, featuring the Air Jordan 1 High.

This year’s high-end Lunar New Year release gives the Air Jordan 1 High an intricate makeover in a “Xuanwu” theme. Translating to ‘dark warrior’, the pair features a white leather base with black and gold snakeskin toes. The heel counters and Swooshes come in a molded, patterned design in orange and black, which gives it the appearance of burning hot coals.

CdG Homme Teases the Return of the New Balance 509

0

Paris Fashion Week is still bringing us plenty of early looks at upcoming projects today. Comme des Garçon showed off some of their new collaborations over the weekend, including the CdG Homme x New Balance 509.

Comme des Garçon has become the herald for upcoming retro releases in the world of sneakers as of late. The France-based fashion label founded by Rei Kawakubo has taken the lead on a number of silhouettes to be given retro releases from a variety of brands. Just this week alone, they’ve teased a revival of the Nike Air Rejuven8 from 2008, and now, the Homme division has teased their take on the New Balance 509.

New Balance’s 509 silhouette first arrived in the early 2010s, engineered as a high-tech running shoe for its time. Since then, the model’s sleek but plain aesthetics have firmly planted in the ‘dad shoe’ world. The model had its first modern release late last year in collaboration with Korean designer Do Hee Kim, and now, CdG Homme is taking a swing at the model in two colors. The first style pits the shoe in a grey scale color, with varying shades of grey mixed with black accents. The second pair is nearly all-white, mixing flat white tones with off-white and eggshell shades.

CDG HOMME X NEW BALANCE 509 RELEASE INFORMATION

The upcoming project from CdG’s Homme division and New Balance has not been announced yet, and is speculated to arrive later in 2025. Highlighting the early-2010s 509, the greyscale and white colorways will be available exclusively through CdG accounts like Dover Street Market. Retail pricing is currently unknown.

AURALEE Teases the New Balance T500 For FW25

Japanese fashion label AURALEE has been on a tear with their New Balance collaborations for the past few years. This week during their Paris runway show, the label showed off another project coming later this year, two colors of the T500 trainer.

The relationship between AURALEE and New Balance grows stronger with each seasonal collection from the Japanese brand. Every runway show for the past few years has teased us with a fresh release from the Boston footwear maker, usually showing us whats in store nearly a year ahead of the official release. Currently, we are still waiting on their 475 pack to hit shelves, but this week they’ve already shown off whats next.

The next-in-line project from AURALEE and New Balance will highlight the T500 trainer as their FW25 footwear. Originally released in 1982 as a performance tennis shoe, the silhouette is currently on a retro from NB as a simple, and affordable option with classic appeal. The upper does not feature prominent complicated patterns, making the T500 a timeless look. AURALEE’s interpretation will come in two colorways, white and brown, both featuring a suede construction with some smooth leather accents.

AURALEE X NEW BALANCE T500 RELEASE INFORMATION

There is no official release information yet for the next AURALEE x New Balance sneaker release, though this project is expected to release in Fall/Winter 2025.
