Nike’s LD-1000 “Bandana” Pack Releases Summer 2025

0

Nike first reintroduced the LD-1000 runner to their catalog last Summer, and have been quietly pushing simple new colors of the low-profile model. This week, a new special edition “Bandana” paisley pack has surfaced, coming soon.

Nike’s LD-1000 originally launched in 1977, and was marketed as a huge leap in running innovations. The shoe used their patented Waffle outsole technology for traction, and featured a wide, flare heel that was intended for stability and traction for road runners. However, the silhouette was recalled, for actually causing more injuries than it prevented. Over the years, Nike has used the iconic silhouette as a reference point for many releases, including sacai’s beloved LDWaffle. Now, the model has returned as a simple lifestyle trainer.

Since its return early in Summer 2024, the LD-1000 has been issued in a range of simple color schemes, as well as several pairs designed in collaboration with Stussy. This season, nike is upping the ante with a special-edition two-piece “Bandana” pack, featuring two colors with a paisley pattern printed across the upper. The first pair comes in Mosswood Brown, with the second in a dark Team Red shade. Both feature white Swooshes, tongues, and midsoles, and tonal suede heel and toe caps to complete the look.

The New Balance 1300JP Made in USA Releases Tomorrow

New Balance practically pioneered the retro sneaker market back in 1995, with the release of the 1300JP. The iconic silhouette now releases once every five years, with the next drop coming soon in May 2025.

The New Balance 1300JP was originally released in 1985, and encapsulated everything excellent about the ’80s running scene in one sneaker. The sleek silhouette features a simple build, mixing mesh and nubuck leather overlays, prioritizing comfort and durability above all. Since its first retro in ’95, the shoe has been on a steady track of only becoming available once every five years, and is always kept in limited quantities. Now, its 2025, and the next appearance of the cult classic is around the corner.

This year’s release of the 1300JP brings the shoe’s production to New Balance’s Made in USA program, manufactured right here in America. In 2020, the shoe was made by hand in Japan, and came with a steep price tag to reflect the cost of making such a premium sneaker in limited quantities. Once again, the shoe takes on a smooth, fan-favorite color scheme, mixing cool grey mesh with a tan nubuck leather, and adding just a splash of blue to the N logos to complete the look.

NEW BALANCE 1300JP MADE IN USA RELEASE INFORMATION

New Balance’s every-five-years release of the classic 1300JP has been scheduled for next month, on May 29th, 2025. The iconic retro runner, only ever available once in a half decade, will be available in limited quantities from both NB and select retailers, with a hefty price tag of $300 for the Made in USA model.

Kith x ASICS SS25 Preview

0

Asics and Kith have been partners in crime since the retailer’s inception, having previously worked with Ronnie Fieg when he was a buyer for David Z. This week, some of their new SS25 footwear has surfaced, coming soon.

Ronnie Fieg’s commitment to creating new collaborations under his name or his Kith brand is unmatched. The founder and designer of the growing chain has worked with dozens of footwear brands over the years, producing hundreds of collaborations since Kith opened its doors in 2011. One of their mainstay partnerships has been with Asics, the Japanese running brand and a personal favorite of Fieg’s.

This week, we have a full preview of some upcoming Kith x Asics releases dropping throughout the Spring & Summer 2025 seasons. After their black & green GEL-Nimbus 10.1 surfaced last week, several other silhouettes and styles have emerged online from eBay user mysia6d, apparently purchased from the Kith Manhattan grand reopening last week. The silhouettes include another pair of the Nimbus 10.1 in white, silver, and neon green, as well as two pairs of the GEL-Kayano 12.1, one in “Tornado” black and the other in “Peat Cream”. Next up is a pair of the JOG 100s, a sleek runner with a streamlined sole unit dressed in “Espresso” brown. The final pair is the GEL-Nunobiki trail shoe in a “Delicioso” green colorway.

KITH X ASICS SS25 PREVIEW

The Asics GEL-Kayano 14 “Sprite” is Coming Soon

0

The GEL-Kayano 14 from Asics has been one of the brand’s most popular models over the past few years, after its return to their catalog. This week, the retro runner has surfaced in a new “Sprite” color scheme, coming soon.

Asics’ vast archive of GEL cushioned running shoes has been a huge source of inspiration for the brand over the last few years, as they roll out pure retros as well as using pieces from various models to inform their new designs. While not everything is a hit, the GEL-Kayano 14 from 2008 has been a massive success for the Japanese running brand, dominating their SportStyle and collaborative releases over the past few years.

This week, an excellent new colorway of the GK14 has emerged as a part of their upcoming in-line releases, which brings colorful accents that evoke the older Sprite branding. The model starts with a white mesh base layer, adding its overlays in the classic metallic silver finish, with some cream hints on the laces, toes, and midsoles. The shoe’s inner linings and Asics logos add a bright lime green shade, while dark blue hits appear on the tongues, toes, and GEL cushioning underfoot.

The Air Jordan 1 Low MM V3 Comes in a Tech Runner Build

Jordan Brand is not quite done with their Air Jordan 1 Low MM series, returning to the special pairs for a new V3 edition this year. Inspired by tech runners, the new grey and silver look will debut later in 2025.

Last year, Jordan Brand introduced the Method of Make, or MM, version of the Air Jordan 1 Low. The new style was created to highlight different manufacturing methods and various materials, while providing a slightly elevated take on the iconic shoe. The first versions included come woven details along the toes and heels along with a small metal Swoosh, before evolving into the all-satin V2 format that released in the latter half of 2024. Now, JB is getting ready to introduce the MM V3.

Our first look at the Air Jordan 1 Low MM V3 comes in the form of Nike’s official images, which give us a great look at all of the new shoe’s details. This pair’s look and construction is inspired by tech running shoes from the early 2000s that have become popular again this decade, particularly focusing on the chrome and flat grey styling of these sneaker designs. The new pair features a wide gauge mesh base layer in plain grey, and redesigned overlays to feature extra cutouts and and more panels, replicating the over-designed look of this shoe style.

AIR JORDAN 1 LOW MM V3 RELEASE INFORMATION

The next iteration of Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 1 Low MM, now categorized as V3, has not been officially announced yet, but is tentatively scheduled to release on September 1st, 2025. The tech runner-inspired look in grey and metallic silver will be available from both Nike and select retailers, and is expected to come with a price tag of $135.

The Air Jordan 13 Low “Dongdan” Releases in Summer 2025

Jordan Brand regularly uses their platform to celebrate different aspects of basketball culture, like their yearly releases for the Quai54 tournament. This week, we have an early preview of a special Air Jordan 13 Low release celebrating Beijing’s Dongdan courts, coming in Summer 2025.

Basketball culture in China has exploded over the past two decades, becoming a dominant force in the sport’s history. The country is also one of the main consumers of sneakers, going hand-in-hand with basketball. Jordan Brand is well aware of this, and regularly releases special-edition projects that celebrate China’s culture and love of the game, like their yearly Zodiac-themed collections. Next Summer, Jordan has a new release lined up to celebrate their Dongdan courts, the epicenter of street basketball in Beijing.

The Dongdan basketball tournament in China has become a pilgrimage of legend in the street ball scene. The courts themselves attract tourists from around the world for pickup games, akin to New York’s famous Rucker Park.
