AURALEE’s New Balance 475 Pack Releases This Week

Japanese fashion label AURALEE has established an excellent relationship with New Balance over the past few years, releasing new sneakers with each seasonal collection. With the release of their 990v4 still on the horizon for 2024, this week they’ve unveiled another project in the works, a two-pack of colors for the 475 retro returning this year.

Last week, Teddy Santis, the founder of Aimé Leon Dore and the current creative director for New Balance’s Made in USA program, unveiled the latest retro runner to return to the brand’s catalog. The 475 model originally debut in the 1980s, and was built as a simple and supportive trail runner. The model is likely to be repurposed into a lifestyle model for its return this year, which was originally teased as an ALD collaboration that will lead into a healthy round of in-line offerings. However, this week a second popular collaborator of the Boston brand showed off their take on the model, Japan’s AURALEE.

The first team-up between AURALEE and New Balance launched back in 2021, helping the 550 rise to stardom through another limited-edition project. Since then, the two have released at least one collection each year, releasing at least two colors of a popular New Balance model on each occasion. They’ve released pairs of the 2002R, 1906R, RC30, and more in that time, with a release of the 990v4 still slated for sometime in 2024. Now, the 475 joins their growing catalog of releases in two fresh color schemes. The standout pair from the pack is the neutral look, pitting the shoe in a grey mesh upper with nubuck and suede overlays in shades of brown, grey, and brick red. The second pair goes for a green-tinted look, using a yellow-green shade for the mesh and some overlays, evening out the palette in shades of grey.

Nike Kobe 9 Elite High Protro “What The” Releases May 2025

Nike continues to celebrate Kobe Bryant’s legacy by reintroducing classic models from his signature line. Among the most anticipated releases is this Kobe 9 Elite High Protro “What The,” set to drop in Summer 2025. This sneaker, known for its bold design and advanced performance features, remains a favorite among sneakerheads and athletes alike.

The original Kobe 9 Elite High “What The” debuted in 2015. It captured attention with its eclectic design, featuring a vibrant mix of colors. The 2025 Protro version retains this mismatched look, boasting a Flyknit upper integrated with Flywire technology. This combination ensures enhanced support and stability, crucial for on-court performance.

The sneaker’s design is visually striking. The lateral side showcases reddish hues, while blues and greens dominate the medial side. The multicolor pattern on the sock liner and Kobe’s crest atop the tongue add to its chaotic yet cohesive aesthetic. This design not only makes a statement but also pays homage to Kobe’s dynamic playing style.

Performance upgrades are a significant highlight of the Protro version. Nike has replaced the original Lunarlon cushioning with a drop-in React foam. This upgrade improves comfort and responsiveness. Additionally, a full-length Zoom Air unit provides superior impact protection and energy return. These features make the sneaker a top choice for both collectors and athletes.

New Balance 2010 Grey Days

New Balance is preparing for their annual Grey Days series, celebrating their signature color with some fan-favorite models. This week, the new 2010 silhouette has surfaced in a “Raincloud” grey shade, coming soon.

New Balance established their Grey Day marketing holiday back in 2018, to celebrate the return of the iconic 574 silhouette as well as the beloved 990 series. Since then, the project has changed a bit, starting with the date. Originally set for March 15th, the celebration has since become a month-long occasion that takes place in May. The Boston brand typically crafts a wide range of shoes for the holiday, each cast in a special grey colorway.

This year’s Grey Day series will include a new addition to the New Balance family, the 2010. The model is set to make its debut in in-line colors early in May, and already has several different colors to help launch the model. Among the new styles is a special pair for the brand’s “Grey Days” holiday. The look mixes warm and cool shades of grey for the upper, mixing Arid Stone and Raincloud tones, while subtle blue branding on the tongues completes the look.

Nike’s Air Max TL 2.5 “Metallic Silver” Releases May 2025

Nike Air Max TL 2.5 Metallic Silver HM8818-001

Nike’s Air Max TL 2.5 made a triumphant return last year, getting its first-ever retro since its 2006 introduction. Now, new colorways for 2025 are emerging, now including a “Metallic Silver” pair for Spring.

Nike has been delivering us some excellent retro releases over the past two years, which have largely been teased months in advance via their SNKRS Showcase events. One event last year included the reveal of the Air Max TL 2.5, a 2006 runner getting its first-ever retro run that kicked off late in 2024. Now, a range of new styles have surfaced for the upcoming months.

The latest pair of the TL 2.5 to surface from Nike ditches the colorful pairs we’ve previewed over the last few months, in favor of an all-silver look. The pair begins with a flat silver mesh for the base layer, with matching matte tones for the lining and midsoles. Every other added piece of the shoe comes in a chrome Metallic Silver finish, from the mudguard cages to the Swooshes, which are outlines in black to complete the look.

The Nike Kobe 9 Elite EXT Goes Premium in Burgundy Suede

Nike’s revamped Kobe line has exploded in the past two years, after they refreshed their deal with his estate. This week, the executor and inside plug of that estate, Vanessa Bryant, shared an early look at a premium Kobe 9 Elite EXT, coming soon.

Nike has been hard at work bringing us plenty of new Kobe releases after the extended hiatus due to issues with Bryant’s estate. With a new agreement formed with Vanessa Bryant in 2022, Kobe sneaker releases are finally back in full swing, with the last year bringing us plenty of heat in both new and original colors. The Kobe 9 made its return last year, in a newly upgraded Protro format, and is back with a fresh range of styles throughout 2025.

This week, the chief Kobe leaker herself, Vanessa Bryant, teased a new premium version of the Kobe 9 Elite EXT. She shared hi-res photos of a new version of the silhouette, which seems to be aimed more towards fashion than performance. The look ditches the usual Flyknit build for the sneaker, replacing the upper with a mix of suede and leather around the collar for stability. The shoe is case in a luxurious burgundy red, with small hints of gold to complete the look.

NIKE KOBE 9 ELITE EXT “BURGUNDY” RELEASE INFORMATION

The upcoming premium edition of Nike’s Kobe 9 Elite EXT has not been announced yet, but is expected to release sometime later in 2025. Shared as a teaser from Vanessa Bryant, the boot-cut silhouette will likely be available from both Nike and select retailers, with a heightened price tag.

Nike’s Air Force 1 Gets a “White Pony” Look

Nike’s Air Force 1 has seen hundreds of different styles over its four-plus decade existence, some leaning to a more premium side than other. This week, we have an early look at a new “White Pony” hair edition, coming soon.

Nike’s triple black and triple white versions of the Air Force 1 are easily the most iconic versions of the shoe, remaining steadfast pieces of their catalog for several decades now. Along the way, these two simple styles have been the most iterated on versions of the classic silhouette, with the Swoosh testing out new materials and constructions, like the recent “Dirty White” pair.

This week, another upscale version of the triple white Air Force 1 Low has crossed our feeds, leaning into premium materials for a new “White Pony” edition. The new look features an entirely faux pony hair textile for the upper, giving the shoe a shaggy look. The faux hair comes in a simple Sail off-white shade, which is paired with a vanilla white midsole underneath. Leather tabs for the tongues and heels complete the look.

NIKE AIR FORCE 1 LOW “WHITE PONY” RELEASE INFORMATION

Nike’s latest premium style of their Air Force 1 Low has not been announced for release yet, but is expected to drop sometime in Summer 2025. FIRST LOOK: Swarovski x Air Jordan 1 Low “Shadow”

Last Summer, new leaks suggested that Jordan Brand could be working with the Swarovski crystal company to bring their glittering jewels to the iconic Air Jordan 1. This week, we finally have our first look at the AJ1 Low in a classic “Shadow” colorway.

Swarovski crystal-studded sneakers have become more and more common over the last few years. While the shoes themselves are delicate and require a lot of care to properly maintain, these glitzy, shimmering versions of our favorite sneakers are still cool to see. Nike brands have released a number of crystal-studded styles in the last few years, including several basketball shoes, the Air Max Plus, and the Converse Run Star. Now, its the Jumpman’s turn.

Rumors of a Swarovski x Jordan release first crossed our timelines about one year ago, but the rumors have been mostly dormant ever since. This week, SneakerGoodsMiami shared an early look at a pair of the Air Jordan 1 Low OG from the project, which brings the iconic “Shadow” colorway to new heights with a shimmering finish. Nearly every inch of the shoe is covered in jewels, making up both the black and grey panels of the classic colorway. The release also includes a special hangtag and deluxe packaging to complete the look.

This release pays homage to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, capturing the essence of the classic UNC theme. Speculation surrounds this release’s “Reimagined” aspect. Possible updates could include a change in materials for a more premium feel or a vintage aesthetic, adding a nostalgic touch to the design. UnheardOf and adidas Unveil Their “Grandma’s Couch 2” Rivalry

0

Cincinatti boutique UnheardOf has built a strong reputation for collaboration in their releases with adidas. Still hot off their “Piggy” AdiStar Cushion release, today they’ve unveiled the “Grandma’s Couch 2” Rivalry Lo, coming in May.

UnheardOf Brand is a small retailer serving up sneakers and apparel in Cincinatti, Ohio. However, their collaborative efforts have been anything but small in the last few years. Back in 2023, they released their debut project with adidas, featuring the Rivalry Lo in a “Grandma’s Couch” theme. Inspired by the furniture at his grandmothers house growing up, founder Philip Lipshutz has brought a ton of personality to their Three Stripes collabs so far. This week, they announced a second edition of the couch-inspired look, which will also mark their final Rivalry release.

After the initial Rivalry release in 2023, UnheardOf followed up with the “Building Bridges” edition, a stonework patterned pair that came packaged in a bright red suitcase. The next Rivalry release follows suit, merging the two releases with a luxurious wooden box as the packaging, covered in a floral print inside and out and featuring a mirror inside the lid. The shoe itself is similar to its predecessor, featuring a cream white underlay with flowers embroidered on most of the layer. Soft pink suede makes up the overlays, while metal hardware, green and red stripes, and a gum sole complete the look.

UNHEARDOF X ADIDAS RIVALRY LO “GRANDMA’S COUCH 2” RELEASE INFORMATION

The final release of the Rivalry Lo from UnheardOf and adidas is scheduled to release next week, on May 10th, 2025. Returning to their “Grandma’s Couch” theme for a second installment, the highly detailed pair will likely be available exclusively through UnheardOf, and comes with special wooden packaging and a price tag of $185.

The Air Jordan 1 High OG “Varsity Red” Releases in May 2025

Leaked Jordan styles for 2025 are starting to stack up, giving us plenty to be excited for in the new year. The Air Jordan 1’s High OG format returns with plenty of new styles, adding a women’s-exclusive “Varsity Red” pair to the Summer lineup this week.

Jordan Brand’s plans for 2025 have seemingly all surfaced together over the last month, as we get our usual wave of leaks for upcoming releases in the new year. As to be expected, most of these styles are purely concepts for now, and some creatives behind the leaks take it upon themselves to create mock-ups of each potential release based on their unique color codes. We’ve heard news of some exciting collaborations, reissues, and special projects, as well as some standard-issue in-line releases.

This week, the latest style to join the list of upcoming 2025 Jordan drops is another pair of the Air Jordan 1 High OG, though this style is expected to release exclusively in women’s sizing. The pair will don a mostly “Varsity Red” makeup, which is paired with white and black for its accent colors. Mockups have depicted the shoe as a slightly modified version of the iconic Chicago pair, using white for the entire base of the shoe and black for the Jordan Wings logos.

AIR JORDAN 1 HIGH OG “VARSITY RED” RELEASE INFORMATION

The latest new women’s colorway of the Air Jordan 1 High OG has not been set for release yet, and is speculated to arrive later this month, on May 31st, 2025. Dressed in a “Varsity Red” color scheme, pairs will be available in women’s sizing from Nike and select retailers, for $180.

Additionally, the release is expected for May 2025.

Nike Air Max 95 “Sundial” Coming Soon

Nike’s anniversary celebration for the Air Max 95 is well underway by now, with tons of exciting releases already available. Today, we have an early look at a new “Sundial” edition of the retro runner, coming soon.

Nike has rolled out their remastered version of the Air Max 95 to celebrate the shoe’s thirtieth anniversary this year. Like the Air Max 1 from a few years ago, this version recreates the shoe’s original larger Air bags in the soles, returning the shoe to its intended form. Along with the revised look, Nike started off their celebration with a handful of iconic OG colorways, along with some other popular recent styles like 2020’s “Pink Foam” edition.

This week, a brand new style for the AM95 has emerged, and is currently expected to hit shelves very soon, in May 2025. The new look is dubbed “Sundial”, a name taken from the shade of orange that accents the Swooshes, tongue tags, and lacing system. The upper features a dark, greyscale color scheme, with an all-black lower half that lightens into shades of grey for the upper wavy layers. Air bubbles and other small details come in “Playful Pink” to complete the look.

NIKE AIR MAX 95 “SUNDIAL” RELEASE INFORMATION

Nike’s upcoming release of their “Sundial” Air Max 95, now with the updated ‘Big Bubble” in the midsole, is currently expected to release in May 2025. The neutral greyscale look with pink and orange accents will be available from both Nike and select retailers, with a price tag of $190.

Blastoise & Charizard Team Up for the Next Pokemon x Crocs Clog

0

Crocs remains the undisputed king of collaboration this year, teaming up with so many different brands, artists, designers, and IP licenses it is difficult to keep track. This week, Pokémon returns with a new clog release featuring Charizard & Blastoise.

The Pokémon IP has branched out dramatically in recent years, with nearly every brand under the sun given the opportunity to license the ‘mons for special projects. One of the more interesting choices to see has been their moves into the world of footwear, which started with an adidas release in 2019. They went on to work with Converse and PUMA over the next few years, before settling into a new series with Crocs as of late.

This week, another addition to the Pokémon x Crocs family has begun to surface at retailers, featuring a mismatched pair of the classic Clog silhouette. The right shoe is dedicated to Charizard while the left is Blastoise, calling back to the original Red & Blue game covers that hit the US in 1998. The shoes feature split gradient color schemes, blue and black for Blastoise and orange and black for Charizard. Both shoes come with Jibbitz charms of each final evolution as well as their types.

POKEMON X CROCS CLOG “CHARIZARD & BLASTOISE” RELEASE INFORMATION

The latest release from Pokémon and Crocs has already landed overseas at retailers like BSTN, though a wider US drop from Crocs has not been announced yet. Featuring two iconic OG ‘mons, Charizard and Blastoise, the mismatched pair will be available through the clog brand’s website for the usual $70.
