New Balance Douses the 990v6 in “Community Red”

New Balance 990v6 Community Red U990RT6

This week, New Balance has released their latest wave of styles from the Made in USA seasonal series, but some interesting new models have already leaked in tandem. Today, we have an early look at the “Community Red” 990v6, coming soon.

The Made in USA product line from New Balance has grown tremendously in the last few years, partly through their partnership with Aimé Leon Dore’s Teddy Santis as the creative director. While many releases have featured a range of iconic NB styles, mostly from the 99x family, the 990v6 has been a constant piece of the arsenal since its debut. The “Light Mushroom” style hits shelves this week, but our timelines have been consumed by a wave of bright new v6 colorways coming this year.

Over the last several days, a number of new pairs of the 990v6 have emerged courtesy of various leaks, where people appear to have these new styles already in hand. One pair comes in shades of teal dubbed “Clay Ash“, and now, a “Community Red” pair has emerged that follows the same color blocking. The look starts with a gunmetal grey mesh base, adding perforated leather mid layers in a pale red shade. The suede outer panels come in the vivid Community Red tone, while a splash of dark purple covers the midsole.

New Balance Refreshes the 991v2 in a “Grounded Pastels” Pack

New Balance’s 991v2 has been an essential piece of the brand’s catalog since its introduction in late 2023. This week, we have a closer look at their “Grounded Pastels” pack of the Made in UK runner, which arrives this Summer.

The 991v2 model from New Balance has been one of their most exciting heritage silhouettes since its introduction nearly two years ago. Building on an iconic original design from 2001, the v2 version keeps the same classic look as its predecessor, adjusting some of the paneling and giving the shape a more sleek, forward-leaning stance. The Boston brand has also kept things fresh with a wide range of unique colors and special collaborations.

This week, full official imagery of an upcoming two-pack of colors has surfaced for the Made in UK 991v2. Dubbed the “Grounded Pastels” pack, the set douses the shoe in two beautiful color schemes in your choice of “Celestial Blue” or “Mineral Green”. The former uses a pale baby blue shade for the suede outer layers, mixing a slightly darker blue for the mesh and breaking it up with grey mid layers. The green pair follows the same format, mixing a bright green outer shell with a darker base layer and grey accents. Both pairs feature cream white laces and black N logos.

New Balance’s “Clay Ash” 990v6 Releases in 2025

New Balance just released their latest wave of seasonal styles from the Made in USA product line, and already we have some early looks at new pairs. Today, the 990v6 emerged in a teal “Clay Ash” style, coming soon.

The New Balance 990v6 is one of the more interesting modern-day models from the iconic running brand. Introduced a few years ago, the silhouette marks the sixth iteration of the 990 franchise, which debuted in 1982. The silhouette has been updated every few years since, and the v6 bridges the gap between performance and lifestyle. The editorial campaign for the shoe’s launch positioned it as a modern-day running shoe, but the model sits almost exclusively amongst their casual offerings.

This week, new colors of the 990v6 have surfaced, following the release of their latest Made in USA Seasonal styles. Among the new looks is a “Clay Ash” pair, which brings a healthy dose of color to the sleek runner. The new style features a gunmetal grey mesh base layer, adding cream white suede structural support mid layers. The outer panels come in a pastel light blue shade, while dark teal accents line the lacing system and make up the entire midsole.

Nike’s Kobe 1 Protro Arrives in “Work Blue” in Spring 2026

Nike Kobe 1 Protro Work Blue IM0541-400

In 2018, Nike and Kobe Bryant released their first retro sneaker, the Kobe 1 Protro. The Mamba himself insisted that his sneakers be updated with modern performance tech, and the Protro line was born. The Kobe 1 returns next year, with a :Work Blue” color in Spring.

Before Kobe Bryant’s tragic passing in January 2020, the legendary Lakers star got to see his signature Nike sneakers get their first retro release. The Kobe 1, originally released in 2006, made its return in 2018, though not in the same way that LeBron and Jordan shoes have 1-to-1 retros. Instead, Kobe insisted that his older models be remade with performance in mind, updating 10+ year old models for the modern day. This decision created the Protro format, which Nike still uses to this day.

2018 saw a wave of special releases of the Kobe 1 Protro, including a handful of collaborations with Undefeated. After Kobe’s untimely passing, the model was shelved, but is now expected to return in 2026. Alongside some classic colorways and Lakers-themed releases, Nike has new styles in the works to herald the model’s return. This week, SneakerFiles shared info regarding a new “Work Blue” style, which will likely imitate the washed blue tones of well-worn workwear. The look is accented by plain white and metallic gold hues.

NIKE KOBE 1 PROTRO “WORK BLUE” RELEASE INFORMATION

Nike’s new releases of the Kobe 1 Protro have not been announced yet, and the “Work Blue” style seen above is not expected to arrive until sometime in Spring 2026. Pairing the light blue shade with white and gold accents, pairs will likely be available from both Nike and select retailers. The shoes are expected to come with a price tag around $200.

Where to Buy the 2025 Nike Air Max 95 OG “Bright Mandarin”

Nike is going big with their Air Max 95 releases this year, celebrating thirty years of the iconic runner. This week, a rehashing of a 2011 colorway has surfaced, with vibrant “Bright Mandarin” orange accents, coming soon.

Nike has rolled out their remastered version of the Air Max 95 to celebrate the shoe’s thirtieth anniversary this year. Like the Air Max 1 from a few years ago, this version recreates the shoe’s original larger Air bags in the soles, returning the shoe to is original form. The Big Bubbles had to be modified due to technical limitations at the time, as they kept popping. Now, with thirty more years of Air expertise under the belt, the OG version is back.

Along with the original version making its return, Nike has a number of classic colorways for the AM95 rolling out this year. With the super-limited pairs of the “Neon” look already available, this week we have an early look at the “Bright Mandarin” pair that debuted back in 2011. This look features a similar greyscale gradient as the Neon, but uses darker shades of black for the lower regions of the shoe. Additionally, the color accent has been swapped for a vivid shade of safety orange, appearing on the lacing system, branding, and Air bags.

New Balance’s 990v6, the sixth evolution of their iconic running line, has been a staple of their Made in USA catalog since its debut. This week, we got an early look at an upcoming pair in “Light Mushroom”, making its overseas debut this week.

New Balance has expanded their lifestyle offerings dramatically in recent years; exploring more colors and modern sneaker constructions. However, they have kept their iconic simple styles going, using models like the 990v6 to bridge the gap between performance and lifestyle footwear. The silhouette is gearing up for another year of excellent releases, like new collaborations from Action Bronson in addition to new in-line styles.

This week will bring the release of the latest style of the Made in USA runner, dressing the shoe in a “Light Mushroom” palette that will also come in a 998 styling. The v6 version features an off-white mesh base, adding its overlays in varying shades of tan and brown for a layered look. This pair ditches the usual suede panels in favor of an all-leather construction, and adds a dark teal tongue label for a splash of color.

Nike’s “Ceramic” Air Max Waffle Arrives in June

Nike launched their Air Max Waffle last Winter, a hybrid silhouette combining two of the brand’s most innovative technologies. This month, the model lands in a new “Ceramic” orange colorway for Summer.

Last year, Nike debuted a surprising new hybrid sneaker, which combined their classic Waffle running shoe with the more technical Air Max Tuned technology. Dubbed the Air Max Waffle, the model launched in November, and delivers a good-looking mix of two styles from very different eras of Swoosh innovation. Now, the silhouette is back in 2025 with new colorways for Summer.

Since its debut in November, the Air Max Waffle has only released in a small selection of colorways. Nike seems to be playing this one close to the chest, with few styles of this unique look available. This week, we got an early look at one of their Summer styles, coming to boutique retailers this month. The new pair is dressed in two shades of orange across its nylon mesh base and suede overlays. The lower layer comes in the darker Ceramic shade, while the suede pieces use Bright Ceramic for a tonal look. Tongues and midsoles are added in sail white to offset the pure orange palette.

New Balance 992 Made in USA “Sweet Caramel” Drops in June

The New Balance 992 has returned to the brand’s catalog over the last year, after taking a short few years’ hiatus. Next week, the model arrives in new Made in USA styles, like this “Sweet Caramel” brown edition.

New Balance’s 992 silhouette had quite a moment in 2020, as the Boston brand’s retro stylings were hitting peak popularity. The 2006 model was at the epicenter of their catalog for that year, appearing in tons of in-line and Made in USA releases as well as a wide range of collaborations. In 2022, the model was put on the back burner, disappearing from release calendars for a few years until returning to the MiUSA line in 2024.

This season, the 992 is back in full swing, after a handful of colorways have already hit shelves. Several collaborations have helped restore the model’s glory as well, including JFG’s “Aged Well” pair, Kith’s “Osaka” store opening special edition, and an Action Bronson “Baklava” pair in the pipeline. While we await that pair, a new “Sweet Caramel” color has been added to next week’s releases, coloring the shoe in a rich brown suede for the upper, paired with white and cream accents.

JoeFreshGoods expanded his empire in 2022 with Every Now And Then, a retail store concept and resource hub in Chicago. This Summer, the brand is launching its debut collaboration with New Balance, a bright green Fresh Foam RCVRY slipper.

Along the way, JFG has launched several other ventures, Community Goods, a nonprofit supporting arts education, and Every Now And Then, a retail & resource company in his hometown.

This week, Every now And Then announced that they would be joining the greater New Balance family, and kicking things off with a footwear collaboration. Nike Adds Extra Ventilation to a New Air Max Sunder

The Air Max Sunder retro from Nike has seen a ton of releases already hit shelves, including a special collaboration with Kids of Immigrants. Now, a new Vent variation is coming this Summer, dressed in “Obsidian” blue for its debut.

Nike’s Air Max Sunder retro is now nearly a year into its revival, staying true to the shoe’s original design with a handful of new colorways. The Kids of Immigrants collaboration is the only variant version currently on the market, with a revised cage system that adds a grid to the entire upper of the silhouette. However, this Summer the Swoosh will introduce a new riff on the classic model, adding some extra ventilation for the warmer seasons.

The new format of the Air Max Sunder, which we are calling Vent, provides a more breathable version of the retro runner for warm weather. The silhouette’s neoprene outer shell is not exactly known for its air flow qualities, and Nike is amending that with this updated look. The shoe’s shape and construction is the same, but the outer layer adds a few new ventilation holes to the toes and midfoot, even eliminating the added Swoosh in favor of a simple cutout version for branding. Seen here in an “Obsidian” dark blue shade, the palette adds darker navy shades as well as a splash of Sundial orange to complete the look.

NIKE AIR MAX SUNDER VENT “OBSIDIAN” RELEASE INFORMATION

Nike’s latest style of the Air Max Sunder has not been given an official release date yet, but will likely arrive as a part of their Summer 2025 lineup. Adding extra ventilation to the shoe’s neoprene outer shell, the “Obsidian” blue color scheme will be available from both Nike and select retailers, and is expected to carry the same $180 price tag.

Patta Teases Their Take on the Nike CryoShot Mercurial M9

0

Last week, Nike unveiled the CryoShot line, featuring modified soccer boots made into walkable sneakers. Now, Patta has teased that they are joining in on the fun with a special pair of the Mercurial M9 style.

#BootsOnlySummer is upon us, as heralded by fashion-forward TikTok users over the last few months. The new trend in style is to wear soccer cleats as everyday shoes, though the use of cleats on hard surfaces like asphalt is generally bad for everyone involved, the shoe, the ground, and feet. In response, brands have been working on modified versions of iconic cleats, with Nike’s answer being the CryoShot line.

Just a few days after Nike unveiled their CryoShot models, team members at Patta, one of their frequent collaborators, have teased a special edition pair of boots in their own color scheme. Shown in just a few photos, the Patta logo is clearly seen on the tongue of this pair of the CryoShot Mercurial M9. The look comes in glossy black and silver for its wavy upper, adding piping, Swooshes, and branding in a bright safety orange shade.

PATTA X NIKE CRYOSHOT MERCURIAL M9 RELEASE INFORMATION

Patta is expected to release their take on Nike’s new CryoShot line this Summer, though no release details have been confirmed yet. The silhouette seen here is the Mercurial M9 boot from the late 90s, dressed in lack, silver and orange with an added flap covering the laces. Pairs will likely be available from both Patta and Nike, and no pricing info is available yet.
