Nike is showing off a ton of new heat at Paris Fashion Week right now, teasing upcoming silhouettes for the coming year. Among the new styles is the Air Bakin Low, a new redesign of the classic.

The ’90s basketball scene is one of the best era in sneaker history. Nike was on fire at the time, so much so that they named an entire product line after various heat-related words. The full collection of sneakers included the Air Scald, Air Melt, Air Grill, Air B-Que, and the Air Bakin. The collection was later pulled from shelves, due to the fiery Air branding on each shoe, which the Council on American-Islamic Relations asserted that it looked too close to the name Allah, and Nike swapped out the custom logo for standard Air branding. The Air Bakin is one of the most beloved models from the line, and is finally set to get a retro this year.

While we are still waiting on concrete release info for the OG retro, Nike is sharing some of their upcoming work with the Air Bakin at their showroom for Paris Fashion Week. The design team at Nike has cooked up a new low-top version of the classic basketball shoe, a first for the fan-favorite model. The look modified some of the paneling for the upper, altering the overlay pattern from a series of concentric lines in favor of a grid, which provides more structure across the silhouette. The Air Bakin Low was shown in a wild color scheme, featuring royal blue mesh for the base, bright green overlays, a black sole, and hot pink branding accents.

There is currently no release information regarding Nike’s low-top update for the Air Bakin. We could see pairs arrive sometime late in 2026, though a Spring 2027 drop is more likely given the timing of Paris Fashion Week. The OG high-top colorway is still poised for a Fall release, and we will likely get the shoe’s original version first before moving on to new designs. Pricing is estimated to be slightly lower than its taller counterpart, possibly in the range of $150.
